• Organize your workstation, including your order book or automated order-taking system. Make sure that the plates, glasses, cups, cutlery and utensils used to serve water, bread or other food or drinks when customers arrive at the

establishment are clean and in the indicated place. Properly place cutlery, napkins, salt and pepper shakers on the tables that will be served before customers arrive. If you are in charge of hosting responsibilities, the waiter must accompany the diners to their table. • Remove used utensils, plates and glassware when customers leave the table and re-set it for the next customers. Place used or dirty items in the appropriate place, out of sight of customers.

• Report theft or damage to restaurant equipment or facilities to the manager. Inform the person in charge of maintenance of any item that needs to be repaired to ensure the safety of employees and customers. Manage the account when

customers finish eating. Assist with administrative tasks as required, for example: answering phone calls or completing debit or credit card transactions. Understand and adhere to company policies and operating procedures.
