Facilities Specialist/Manager
Directs the operations and maintenance of facilities and equipment. Provides guidance to vendors for plumbing, electrical, framing, and HVAC in addition to contractors hired for facility improvements. Improves general working conditions and creates a comfortable environment for staff and customers.
●Oversaw a 57,000 square foot expansion and remodel project of the casino. Carefully implemented construction with consideration of appropriate guidelines and codes.
●Directs services of a maintenance, janitorial, contract cleaning crew, and a landscape and exterior building maintenance crew.
●Collaborates and plans construction projects with a general contractor and ensures safety conditions and protocols are followed throughout the construction site.

Courtyard by Marriott, Tacoma, WA March 2010 – August 2015
Director of Engineering
Researched and coordinated bid solicitation for major projects and reported directly to the General Manager and the Regional Director of Engineering. Served as the Assistant Chief Engineer when required. Scheduled employee hours’ and supervised a five-person engineering team and a cleaning and maintenance crew.
Managed a 5-year remodel project with minimal interruption and inconvenience to guests.
YMCA, Puyallup and Gig Harbor, WA September 2002 – April 2010
Facility Manager, May 2007 – April 2010
Supervised operations and maintenance of the Gig Harbor Family YMCA facility and surrounding grounds. Areas and facilities managed included pool boilers, domestic water boilers, hydronic boilers, HVAC systems, security surveillance systems, irrigation systems and exercise equipment. Supervised a multidisciplinary team of four full-time and six part-time staff.
●Managed a $1.5+M operations and maintenance budget for a 18,000-member facility.
●Provided leadership in the “Activate America” movement.
●Researched environmental impacts of operations and adjusted accordingly to be environmentally “friendly” (or “green”) whenever possible.
Served as a consultant for new construction design decisions for the Silverdale YMCA.
Maintenance Technician I & II, September 2002 – May 2007
Coordinated regular and long-term budget plans with the Facility Manager. Provided routine and specialized facility services, including emergency support and preventive maintenance for a 21,000-member, premier branch. Managed, trained, and scheduled hours for a five-person crew to coordinate requirements for laundry, security, and general maintenance. Researched and solicited bids for contract work.
