Dec. 2014 to May 2020 : Corporate HSE Manager - Chemie-Tech LLC (U.A.E) Responsibility:
1. Bidding/Tendering: The HSE inputs should not only be specific but also tailored to the client's requirements. The presentation of the company's HSE statistics, trends, and best practices should also be done in a way that highlights the company's strengths in HSE and provides a competitive advantage over other bidders. 2. Engineering Phase/Project Initiation Phase: The development of country-specific legal requirements registers is a good practice, but it should be supplemented with regular updates on new and changing laws and regulations. The setting up of HSE objectives and targets should be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART). The 30/60/90-day HSE deliverables should be aligned with the project schedule and milestones.
3. Procurement: The supplier evaluation and pre-qualification process should be based not only on HSE criticality but also on other criteria such as technical competence, financial stability, and reputation. The review of subcontract agreements should also consider the allocation of HSE responsibilities and liabilities between the contractor and subcontractor.
4. Construction Phase: The corporate HSE audit schedule should be risk-based and prioritized based on the criticality of the project and the level of HSE performance. The HSE plans and procedures should be site-specific and address the unique risks and hazards of each site. The HSE training needs analysis should be based on the competency requirements of each role and function. The procedures for the preparation and implementation of programs should follow recognized international standards and guidelines. The risk assessment and safety management system should be integrated with the project management system to ensure consistency and alignment. The investigation of key incidents/accidents should use a root cause analysis methodology that identifies underlying systemic factors and not just individual behavior or actions. 5. Integrated Managements system (9K1, 14K1, 45K1): I was responsible for overseeing the transition from ISO certification to the Integrated Management System (IMS) for 9K1, 14K1, and 45K1, with BV as the certification body. My primary responsibilities included ensuring compliance with regulations, developing procedures, conducting internal audits, maintaining corrective and preventive processes, and tracking actions taken to address identified issues. In addition, I managed the legal register and HIRA and EIA registers to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. Below are the projects that were handled during the period 2014 to 2020. Previous Responsibility:
