Responsible for initiating and implementing an environment that promoted change and continuous improvement using ERP systems (MES) DMAIC, SIPOC and other Six Sigma principles.

•Responsible for team that improved roasted bean yield by 15% by identifying a process failure as well as roof top conveyor line leaks.

•Part of team that was responsible for a safety roaster upgrade that eventually reduced safety issues. The main two issues being explosion door incidents and roaster tank fires. The number of incidents were reduced by more than 65% and the roaster fires by close to 50%

•Part of team that upgraded the MRG control room to allow for more efficient work from attendants. This allowed 2 workers from each crew of 5 to be allocated to other areas of need in the mixing dept.

Responsible for a work force of 20-30 hourly employees and two Coordinators and a Supervisor. Work included grounds upkeep and equipment and building sanitizing. Several projects required working with outside vendors.

•Reduced number of recordable and reported physical strains and injury in dept. by close to 45%. This was accomplished through an ergonomic study and retraining.

•Lead 2 "Kaizen" events that lead to 3 dept. turning to a 5S system (more organized and efficient)

•Reduced head count in the dept. from 30 to 21 workers by identifying areas of MUDA (waste) in terms of wasted time, effort and resources.

Operations Supervisor/Can plant Manager Jacksonville, Florida Kraft Foods Maxwell House Coffee Oct 1998 to Mar 2004

Responsible for the daily operations of production floor activities for the Can making, Coffee filling and packaging departments. Responsibilities included employee training, safety, budgets and production goals, HR duties and weekly payroll.

•Responsible for reducing head count in dept. by 1 person per production line (4 lines). Through redesign of floor stations and retraining.

•Reduced grievance complaints by roughly 70% by opening constructive lines of communication with employees and management.

•Part of team that converted from printed metal sheets to non-print. This resulted in significant reduction in change over times as well as production errors. Change over times for can dept. reduced by over 70% while change over times for the filling and packaging departments were on average reduced between 30 and 40%

•Part of group charged with traveling to Regensburg Germany to inspect and commission 3 new labeler production lines as the plant was moving from litho metal to a labeled package.
