Responsible for preparing Order of Magnitude, Budgetary, and Definitive Estimates for buildings and major infrastructures including Petrochemical Plants in the city,

Provide Engineer’s Estimate used for evaluations of bids by contractors,

Prepare Other Estimating tasks which include insurance cost of RC aircraft, replacements cost of existing Ghumisah desalination plant, current assets and its depreciation cost, revenues/ profit of proposed investments, rental rates of existing facilities, and other special cost studies.

Lead the Master Plan Update for the Industrial City of Jubail,

Developed Work Breakdown Structure to serve as basis for the master schedule,

As part of the team, we prepared the Control Schedule used for master control of the projects. The projects are categorized into various areas such as the Community, Industrial, and Commercial Area. These were subdivided then into Phases such as Completed, On-going and Forecast Projects,

The projects include major infrastructures such as roads, bridges, seawater cooling canal, pipeline corridor, port’s material handling, utilities, etc. Commensurate to these infrastructures, the Primary/Secondary Industrial Plants were constructed and expanded. Whereas Mass Housing and Private Sector’s Commercial Buildings were built as well,

Each of these projects is monitored by receiving reports of actual progress and costs and comparing them to the plan. Knowing the importance of the exact status of each project at any given point in time, it is equally important to analyze the situation so that appropriate corrective action can be taken if required.

Special Tasks Assignments

Contract Administrator/ Cost Analyst (2002-03) for Jubail & Yanbu Economic Feasibility Study -responsible for reviewing and recommending necessary modifications on the impact of the two industrial cities on Saudi Arabia as presented by Nexant,

Team Leader (2001-02) for the Work Plan Update to produce a strategic database in ACCESS concerning all on-going and most promising future contracts of the city incorporating its costs, schedules and scope of work,

Acting Supervisor (2000-01) in Cost Engineering Section reviewing and performing all kinds of estimate as mentioned above and reporting directly to the Manager for approval,

Bidding Committee Member -Providing recommendations for the most qualified bidders, not just the lowest but the one with reasonably low offer not jeopardizing the quality and safety aspects of the project. Reviewing their unit prices to check if they are responsive bidders.
