Job Responsibilities

JANUARY 2011 to July 2015

Duties

Ø Solve mechanical and electrical problems on exploration and grade control drilling rigs of Atlas Copco Workshop or customer site.

Ø Perform troubleshooting and root cause analyze in a professional way to ensure equipment reliability and customer satisfaction.

Ø Support contractor employees in daily tasks to improve their skills and competencies.

Ø Prepare spare parts and provide effective solutions on parts replacement.

Ø Carry out periodic maintenance on the machines depending on the engine hours worked, and some of the things done during the maintenance includes:

Changing of engine oil and filters with new, changing fuel filters with new, replacement of air

Filters with new, grease all the metal mating parts and the components required

Ø Troubleshoot and solve problems on air condition system on the machine electrically.

Ø Repaired major electrical components such as starters and alternators.

Ø Solve mechanical problems irrespective of where it breaks down, being it engines, hydraulic valves, hydraulic and pneumatic pumps.

Ø Rectify problems irrespective of its kind, (electrical mechanical and hydraulics)

Ø Represent the company at customers SHC to render service support upon recommendation.

Ø On-call during emergency rig breakdown situations

Ø Monitoring of available spares on stock as a responsible technician and make sure all parts are available in case any is needed.

Ø Placed at the drill maintenance department to work and report directly to the drill maintenance supervisor in charge.

Ø Represent the company at the customer site to manage the performance of the drill rigs to suits the budgeted availability.

Ø Attend to breakdowns and solve them when there is the need.

Ø Monitor the machine as it drills and note all defects that are not major and needs to be carried out when the machine comes down for planned maintenance, (PM).

Ø Rectify problems on the machine irrespective of its kind.

Ø Train both the mechanics and electricians on the drill machines to enhance their skill.

Ø Grease all the necessary components that needs to be greased daily to prevent friction causing components eventually damaged.

Ø Supervise and train the electricians on site and upgrade their skills to meet the Atlas Copco standard on the products.
