This role is the face of the organization and the first person most people will interact with from the company. Make sound decisions to line up the customers shipment needs with the service requirements you recommend and set clear expectations on shipment specific details. Manage freight on a piece by piece scale. Manage anywhere between 1,000-2,500 individual pieces of freight a day depending on the time of year. Run tracking and shipment inquiry reports that show all allotted freight for our station daily and make sure each individual shipment is accounted for every step of the way. If needed, manually place scans on shipments and update the customer facing TMS, so that customers can see in real time updates on their order(s). Play a role in offloading the inbound full truck load(s) of freight we get daily to our station and understand warehouse processes. Work with senior management and carrier side to map out routes and assign drivers appropriately daily. Handle all station freight logistics issues, delivery problems, and complaints. Do so by using the tools and services internally that are at hand to dig for solutions. Handle ordering all station supplies, first aid kit supplies, customer products, and audit what needs to be ordered weekly. Run reports to ensure each employee on site has a timecard entered that is error free daily and correct any errors manually if needed. Collect signatures on these time cards and make sure drivers are abiding DOT hours of service requirements. DANGEROUS GOODS SPECIALIST

Audit hazmat shipments (Class 1-9) that are being sent via Fedex Air. These shipments must be in compliance with the IATA regulations. Hazmat shipments that are deemed not in compliance and shipped via FedEx Air are subject to a 75,000 fine that the origin station would be subject to pay, it is a DG Specialist job to make sure everything shipped from the station is 100% in compliance with all DOT/ IATA/ FedEx regulations to avoid any fines. Therefore, each Dangerous Goods Specialist must complete a mandatory week long training in a classroom setting. Be able to audit and ship Class 1-9 dangerous goods or Hazmat shipments both domestically or internationally.

HAZARDOUS SPILL CLEANUP SPECIALIST

This role goes hand and hand with the Dangerous Goods Specialist role. Each Hazardous Spill Cleanup Specialist must attend a weeklong training. You are required to know all rules and regulations to safely handle any hazardous spills that happen at the facility.
