Training Supervisor

Supervisor in charge of training operators and maintenance technicians in regulatory safety requirements for Cal OSHA, operation of Wastewater treatment equipment and all moving vehicles. Safety trainings include, Personal fall arrest system, permit to work, PPE, Slips Trips and Falls, LOTO, and more. Vehicle trainings include, Forklift Safety & operation, Rail king operation and Rail Car Safety, Boat driving & Boom reel containment operation.

In addition to the safety, compliance and machinery trainings, I also train operators on the advanced aspects of the refinery processes.

Key Achievements:

Led the production operations team in the refining of over 50,000 metric tons in 2014; 76,000 metric tons in 2015; 110,000 metric tons in 2016; changed operations from a 24/5-day schedule to 24/7-day schedule in 2017 which increased production to over 130,000 metric tons. In 2018 we reached 149,000 metric tons and 2019 we refined our highest amount still to this date, of over 155,000 metric tons.

Identified all refinery deficiencies after failed attempt to refine Crude Palm Oil in our refinery. The recommendations resulted in the redesigning project that allowed us to refine CPO successfully.

AEMETIS ADVANCED FUELS, Keyes, CA April 2011 - May 2013

Floater Operator

Perform all 7 jobs within my team in case someone was out sick or on vacation. Monitored plant operations and performed troubleshooting and maintenance assistance on equipment that was malfunctioning. Maintained schedules for rotation of redundant pumps, evaporator columns, heat exchangers and decanters.

Key Achievements:

Mastered the Control Room operation position by achieving plant balance throughout the entire refinery through implementation of proactive monitoring adjustments with our Honeywell PLC system. Also demonstrated the ability to apply multi-tasking skills to perform the Control Room Operator job with a high level of efficiency.

NEW UNITED MOTORS, Fremont, CA October 1994 - April 2010

Team Leader – Axle Line & Conveyance Department

Team Leader on the front and rear axle assembly line for 5 years, and Team Leader in Conveyance department on both the east and south docks for 6 years. Delivered emergency parts support to car department to ensure continuous assembly line production. Monitored automated ground delivery carts to ensure they were moving on the path they were set for and reset carts on the correct path whenever they were off track or stuck.

Worked closely with the project team when testing of parts being moved from one route to another route or when project team was testing new delivery routes to improve delivery efficiency.

Key Achievements:

Voted union representative for the conveyance group on day shift as a Team Leader as I was always helping my team and all the team members in my group on their routes by driving around and picking up their empty parts containers whenever I had free time. The other team leaders would go and read newspapers in the breakroom. I had tremendous pride in my job and would still be there if the plant had not closed down on 4/2/2010.

Toyota Production System knowledge that included standardized work, kaizen concepts, safety, continuous improvement, identification and elimination of Muda, and mastered the Japanese concept of the TPS system.
