Duties and Responsibilities

Performing laboratory tests in the following departments, Haematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Micro Biology, Virology and Serology

Label, sort and check specimens and register all information into the computer system

Serve as a resource leader for all members of the staff, which includes answering questions when asked and participating in any educational opportunities as they arise

Create a safe environment for everybody by ensuring that staff personnel keep work areas clean and ensuring none of the medical equipment becomes contaminated

Maintain database within blood bank and prepare transfusions maintaining, calibrating, cleaning and testing sterility of the equipment

providing technical support and mentoring to students on attachment
