Work Experience
Assistant Manager
DocStaff Dental Staffing - Houston, TX
April 2022 to Present
I’m helping the owner with data entry, filing, scanning and some on her past due clients. Keeping her up to par with her office. Working with different system for a staffing agency. It’s nice to have a dental background when finding a temporary position for a client, essentially knowing their dental job history or seeing what they can or can’t do when placing them at a temporary position in an office. Office Manager
MAPLE LEAF DENTAL - Houston, TX
September 2020 to April 2022
This is where I became an office manager. I verified all insurance 2 days out, I worked on er are, filled the doctors schedule, did treatment plans and presentation, insurance aging, checked on claims pending, paid all bills, organized meetings for staff, training for staff, answered all phones, worked closely with doctor in preparing large treatment options/planning for patients-and all of their questions and concerns in regards to oral health/hygiene. The doctor was a prosthodontist, I made sure patients were ready for 2nd stage restoration, made sure to set-up small payment plans or helped them get financing through other sources as well. Made sure the office was always running sufficiently. Set goals for the day, week and month. To get the staff bonus’s. I greeted my patients daily with a smile, and always made them feel like the dental office was not a scary place to be. When they left, always made sure they had their next appointment/appointments already scheduled, and that they left knowing we would be there “family dental” office, where we called them by their 1st name, knew about them and 1 significant thing that stood out from the rest.
Scheduling Coordinator/Insurance verification specialist AK Dentistry - Houston, TX
July 2017 to August 2020
I was the face of this office. I greeted patients, usually by name, verified all insurance, confirmed appointments, kept hygienist schedule full, took payments, entered in insurance payments, made sure they were paying the correct amount. During covid19, made sure all patients were screened properly for their visits. Filed charts, did NP letters and referrals, birthday post cards. I also helped with getting statements out in a timely manner. Answered all phones, moved appointments, or helped them to come in sooner. Talked to the patients to try and get them relaxed and comfortable before their appointments. Helped with treatment plans. The office manager that was there at the time (Debra Turner) she retired- she showed me ways to become an office manager-and she knew I would become 1, soon. I learned a lot of skills from her. How deal with disgruntled employees or patients in a calmly way, set-up for the staff and doctors. I learned about production, daily, weekly and monthly to help the staff get bonuses per month.
Dental Assistant/Scheduling Coordinator
Fossil Creek Dental - San Antonio, TX
February 2010 to June 2017
At this office, I started as the lead dental
assistant, which included, assisting the doctor
with all procedures: chairside, 4 handed dentistry, ordering all dental products for the clinical side. I also cleaned the office on Friday's after everyone left. Sterilized all instruments, helped with
hygiene: charting, assisted with sealants (until I took the pit and fisher course then I did sealants for hygiene. Cleaned all op's and made them
ready for the next patient to arrive. Then I moved from the back to the front. In the front office, I made next appointments, collected payments,
verified all insurance, and worked on recall, filed charts, always tried to fill the schedule for the
doctor and the hygienist. At this office is where I learned to verify insurance and the duties.
