Jobsite Experience

Blattner Energy, Desert Center, CA 92239 — Ironworker App March 2020 - August 2020

There were multiple task required of us at this solar energy project.

● Signal towards forklift operator, and slide 30 ft metal tubes onto forks.

● Hang tubes onto iron pillars out in the field.

● Material preparation for Solar panels to be set on tubes.

● Bolt up tubes onto iron pillars.

SME Steel, Wrapper Tower — 5790 West Jefferson Blvd September 2020 - April 2021

Throughout my time at this jobsite I was a 2nd level apprentice and I was only responsible for these task. I worked with the welding crew. It is the task designated to get me accustomed to maneuvering around the job site and learning the hazards of a structural job. Harness was required to wear at the jobsite in the building.

Welding Crew

● Help maneuver welding lead and tools throughout a 13 story jobsite.

● Operate scissor lifts throughout the building and help set up members of the welding crew who had to reach high welding points.

● Torch cutting and iron plate preparation.

● Setup 40 ft ladders to access different floors.

● Open deck and floor openings. Covered with cones and red tape so coworkers were aware.

Bragg Crane, Lumen West LA — 11355 W Olympic Blvd, Los angeles, CA

August 2021 - September 2022

I was a 4th level Ironworker apprentice at this stage of my career. This jobsite was a 13 story demolition job. It was a huge renovation project. I worked with the bolt up crew and detail gang throughout my time at this jobsite. Personal tools used on a daily basis were a 1 inch spud wrench, sleever bar to work with the iron and bolt holes for proper placement, and bull pin to drive into bolt holes if not properly aligned.

Bolt Up Crew

● Operate Aerial lifts at great heights and stuff bolts required into the iron.

● Learned how to identify different bolts from Hex bolts, to TC Bolts. Each structural member throughout the jobsite required different types of bolts, sizes, etc.

● The ability to assure of bolt tension on beams, girders,and columns. Detail Crew

● Rig up different types of iron with proper rigging equipment.

● Helped me understand the use of the chain fall hoist to help use leverage on structural steel that weighed more than two members can carry such as iron plates and beams that needed to be put into place.

● Learned how to use a come along hoist for other types of heavy structural members.

● Maneuvered a scissor lift throughout the building and put up plates and would use bridge clamps to keep in place.
