Was responsible for enhancing, maintaining and developing new conversion programs for this IMS DB/ DC system.

• Several new reports were created including a report showing new and terminated members to the plan.

• Several interface files were created and sent to outside companies for other medical plan enrollment or for member verification.

• IMS optimization team was responsible for analyzing the top ten IMS batch programs and top IMS screen, which were using excessive CPU time. Rewriting these programs to use the databases more efficiently reduced CPU time by forty hours a month. Savings estimated at $432,000 per year. Contract Programmer

CHEVRON INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY COMPANY - Pleasanton, CA February 1994 to June 1994

Worked on the Chevron Telephone Network and created a new project from a subsystem of the Payroll project.

• The project required the creating of a new system within the library system, MVS and IMS environments. Responsible for working with the systems groups to set up this new project on the computer environment.

• Enhancements include adding new fields to several IMS screens, databases, and several batch files. Also, wrote a new interface program to update the databases from the HR system. System was written in COBOL.

• I was a permanent employee at Chevron from 1976 to 1980. Worked on several systems in COBOL and PL/I that used IMS DB/DC. I was a Project Manager for 3 years and had 4 analysts working for me on 3 different projects. We developed one of the first working LAN systems in the company.
