Northwell Healthcare – Long Island New Yok. Served as project manager on medium sized projects. Resposible for software builds for new functionality on Cerner Helathcare application systems. Served as support analyst and builder for system incidents. Expertise in Patient Management/Patient Accounting,Medical Records and building with the system architecture. Worked with members of the government in the implementation of the changes to the new MBI# for Medicare. Supported training to end users on the different applications. Also created all the test plans for all projects and Change Requests. Performed all Service Order Selection changes within the order selection pathways. Documented all builds. Helped with the on-boarding of new hires.

Denver Health Hospital – Denver Colorado. Helped complete the ICD-10 implementation. I served as an on-call support and development analyst for the Cerner Invision applications which required advanced analysis and build techniques with OAS Gold and the Online Architecture. My concentration was Patient Management and Medical Records support. This also included writing Ad-hoc reports, RTIF interface pathways and documents, debugging interface issues, reviewing and testing all software updates, and resolving LCR issues. I was also the leader of a team responsible for identifying the Invision/LCR legacy tasks for the conversion to Epic. Met with all the analysts to produce a decommission plan for each of the applications they support. I was the lead analyst for an application the hospital used for bed control and patient transportation called Teletracking.

Project Leader and main builder for the Siemens ICD-10 implementation. I was responsible for updating and building all screens/ Gold forms, TCL’s and profiles with the new ICD-10 fields and processing. Was responsible for presenting status to management, creating and coordinating all testing,(IT and User group including 3M). Prepared all documentation for production turnover, implementation and support. Supported the pathways after they were implemented. I was also the primary Siemens Patient Management support analyst interacting with all departments of the hospital while working through and resolving their issues. My support focus included the patient management pathways, Medical records and coding pathways, RTIF pathways and error reports, all printing of facesheets, labels and other documents.

Shands Hospital - Jacksonville Florida

Overall Project Manager of the Epic EMR implementation. I reported directly to the VP of Operations and and CIO. Responsible for the implementation of Epic's ASAP, Willow, HIM, Inpatient Orders and Clinical Documentation modules. I determined the resource needs, interviewed, hired and managed a team of analysts and consultants for all the applications. I managed the project plan and kept the core managers from all departments with weekly meetings to keep them informed, educated and obtain input when needed. Helped coordinate the priorities of tasks with the leaders of each of the application teams. Met with the physician champions to keep them informed and to help them adopt a new electronic medical record system. Helped the training coordinator with the training plan including finding principle trainers. Held weekly meetings with the users to enable a smooth transition from paper to electronic ordering and documentation. Helped design a game for the interaction of physicians to obtain a level of engagement in the Epic functionality. This was extremely successful. Was a point of escalation for the application teams and worked with executive management to ensure resolution of all issues.

Shands Hospital – Gainesville Florida.

A)Developed the Clinical Documentation Assessments for the Shands-UF Rehab department. This includes triggering problems to the plan of care. Helped with the process and technical design for rehab to convert to PIE notes from SOAP notes. Built all the GOLD forms for all Rehab pathways including the triggers to Plan of Care. Worked vigorously with the Rehab department on the design, recommending solutions, process changes, and pathway suggestions until specifications were completed. Coordinated all the integrated testing scripts and the integrated testing event.

B)Lead builder and analyst for the Browser Based Plan of Care implementation. Responsible for helping the users understand the functionality of the Siemens product and organizing the information that drives its features. I was the lead on the integration of the clinical documentation package and the plan of care pathways. Built the Net Access navigator views for the users and helped design and build the Gold Forms.

C)Lead member on the project team for Clinical Documentation inter-disciplinary functionality implementation. This included the charting pathways for nursing, physical and occupational therapy, social work, pastoral care and case management. I was the co-project manager and lead builder. Helped organize and define the tasks during development of the project plan. Set up meetings with the user departments to gather information for detailed specifications. Built the Vital Signs, Chart Intake & Output, Admission History assessment, Integumentary, Education, Nutrition and ADL, Social Services, and Physical Therapy assessment pathways. Organized a team of builders that included other consultants and the hospital I.S. staff that participated in the build. Delivered formal training on Gold Form Builder, Net Access Customizer and Clinical Documentation to the hospital staff. Developed the standards for naming conventions and building guidelines for all gold forms, architectural elements and CRMF codes. I am also responsible for the entry of all observation codes, groups and flowsheets in the Clinical Results Master file. Helped define the data retrieval of Clinical Documentation for displays to nurses, doctors and ancillaries departments. I customized the Net Access navigator to provide views of all assessment pathways to each department. This included all Gold interop functionality.

D)Medication Reconciliation – Responsible for the design and build of the medication reconciliation pathway and process. Built the Gold Forms to capture the home medications that fed a process for the doctors to reconcile medications while a patient is taking medications during a hospital stay. The end result was a list of medications provided to the patient at time of discharge. This was built as a stand alone pathway and was invoked from the Net Access navigator.

E)Implemented MedsConnect. My responsibility was to co-project lead and to build the Medsconnect functionality into the Clinical Documentation pathway.

F)One of my main responsibilities has been to continuously train all analysts in different subject matters. This has been done formally in a classroom in which I developed and delivered the training that included OAS Architecture Tool, OAS-GOLD forms builder tool, Patient Management application, Clinical Documentation application, AD-Hoc wizard reporting tool, Advanced Online Architecture subjects (such as building expressions in Data Evaluator using PRALC).

Baystate Hospital – Springfield Massachusetts. Helped educate the I.S. staff on Gold Forms Builder. Reviewed the current re-expressed conversion and made the appropriate recommendations. Developed specifications for the ET Registration functions. Helped build the re-expressed Gold Patient Management and Medical Records pathways.

Attended the Siemens CPOE training class at corporate.

University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City Mo. Developed customized education and training for Gold Forms Builder and delivered the education to eight of Information Technology staff.

Hamilton Medical Center. Performed the detailed analysis with the I.S. department and user community and developed the re-expressed patient management pathways using Gold Form Builder. Adapted Net Access using the customizer and inter-operability to enable users to have access to all patient management re-expressed pathways from the Net Access navigator providing single sign-on to both Gold and Net Access functions. Delivered formal education on Advanced OAS, Gold Form building and Adhoc Wizard.

Mercy Health Partners/Toledo Ohio. Helped build a corporate model for two hospitals for the Patient Management application. I have been the project leader and builder for maintenance to all Invision pathways using OAS, OAS-Gold forms, and Net Access including inter-operability between Gold and Net Access. Implemented EAD Insurance and Guarantor processing. Implemented a custom policy and group number into EAD to help facilitate insurance processing during patient registrations. Integrated EAD insurance plan processing with HDX authorization processing during patient registration. Supported the current system for all three hospitals. My main focus was in Patient Management, Medical Records, Patient accounting, Enter and generating charges. I built an Auto-Discharge and Auto-Reregistration function for three hospitals.

Reading Hospital/Reading Pennsylvania. Implemented ENAD (Expanded name and Address) into their current Invision system. Project leader and builder for this implementation.

Virtua Health Organization Voorhees/Marlton New Jersey. Implemented OAS Gold Patient Management Browser Based Registration and Net Access. Organized the hospital IS staff for this integration project. Included building the OAS Gold Patient Management pathways, developing an inter-operating function between Net Access and OAS Gold for Unit Secretaries doing registration functions. Facilitated document and report routing with technical staff using VPS and IP printing. Provided OAS Gold training to IS staff. Developed end-user training on all model and custom built pathways. Provided documentation on all customizations.

Children’s Specialized Hospital Mountainside New Jersey. Implementation of OAS Gold Patient Management Browser Based Registration. Responsible for defining the pathway needs. Performed all the modifications to the OAS Gold pathways to meet the user specifications. Defined all the report routes and route assignments in VPS and all document routing through IP based printing. Designed and implemented special documents from Invision utilizing PCL coding to save hospital from the expense of pre-designed forms.

This included meeting with the directors of all departments within the five hospitals to identify their needs, establish corporate standards, formulate system strategies (hardware and software) and presented the information in a specifications document. Responsible for determining the schedule with delivery dates, developed the work plan, and communicated the status of the project to higher-level management. Documented a problem log along with recommended solutions. I coordinated the system customization effort and performed the building tasks for the Patient Management system using the SMS Online Architecture Software. Led a project team of four in the installation of a cost-accounting reporting system that utilized mainframe and PC capabilities. The system generated standard reports and loaded the necessary files that enabled clients to generate their own reports using FOCUS on their own PC.
