Major roles and responsibilities:

Prepare thoroughly training materials to be technically competent and resourceful.

Producing Posters to use in the trainings and organizing other required materials that will be utilized in conducting trainings.

Creating awareness to the farmer organizations, Local administration Authorities about Farmer Business School and help them decide trainings time and venue.

Collect data at the beginning of every module using Kobo collect tool to identify the participants’ understanding and monitor at end how each objective of the module was met.

Facilitating 11 modules of Farmer Business School to the Tea farmer organizations.

To help farmers understand and digest the following key things:

- Management of farm as an enterprise

- Basics of healthy nutrition and farm management for food security

- Planning of production and financial management

- Profit-loss assessment of current and improved techniques

- Decisions to increase and diversify income

- How to obtain good financial services

- Benefits from membership in farmer organizations.

Passing farmers through role plays, icebreakers and group workers with the purpose of enabling each and everyone to participant fully, learn and discuss among themselves-learner centered.

Helping participants to select the FBS Focal person who will serve as a group motivator, empowering them through leadership skills and act as a bridge between ETP-GIZ and farmers.

Reporting the details of every group after training.

Researcher on the cover crop plants like Mucuna, Lablab, Jack bean and their interaction with Banana, Maize and Cassava respectively plants.

Major roles and responsibilities:

Identifying the importance of Cover crops to the soil fertility improvement, weeds reduction, and their interaction with crops.

Research on the banana xanthomonas wilt, on how it can be managed

Working on the benefits of intercropping Cassava and Jack bean, how it has improved cassava production as well as maintaining soil fertility

Lablab impact to the fertility improvement of the soil and Maize production increase

Comparing the difference between crops planted single and the crops intercropped with cover crops and analyzed their resistance to the drought stress.

Design questionnaire to collect data about farmers livelihood, Banana Xanthomonas wilt severity.

To design the farm to serve as a research and demonstration plot for the Agriculture training and nutrition to improve the health and livelihoods of the farmers.

Training and education: programs for the dissemination of agriculture principles and techniques to the farmers and designing the Curriculum to use during the training.

Improving the nutrition of students in the Gasabo diocese preschools in a sustainable way

Trying different cover crops to build the fertility of the soil, designing different modes of kitchen gardens as indication to farmers to try it as they are fighting malnutrition and improve their well being

Emphasizing on the advantages of incorporating agroforestry trees with the crops to benefit the soil, plants, climate and farmers

Practicing Conservation Agriculture as the best way to fight climate change and a promising strategy to have health soils in the long run

Building swales, irrigation trenches, tanks and others to better harvest rain water for the dry season as well as fighting soil erosion.

Reporting was a major task to be able to track the progress of the work

Major roles and responsibilities:

oCreate a general awareness of DOT-Rwanda’s programs to the Local leaders in the area of my work, partners and other concerned individuals and groups.

oConduct mobilization and sensitizing people to register and attend the program and facilitation and group coaching in the 10 modules that is the startup program called Business Model canvas

oConducting gender discussions at my area of work before starting training every group and recruiting equal number of males and females.

oHelping people who have dream to start a business, having a struggling business to help them bring back their businesses to life and to help participants with failed business to re-start it but having features that will allow those businesses to compete on the market place

oInviting Bank officials and other financial institutions to come and talk to our participants the services they have, encourage them to build the culture of saving and to explain to them in details of how their services will help them reach their intended goals.

oTo look for opportunities around that can benefit the participants and link them where necessary like if there is a new service for youth or women.

oRepresent Organization in different events and government activities when requested by my supervisor.

oDoing reports, writing blogs, attending monthly knowledge sharing and linking participants to the financial institutions and banks.

I attended several trainings in agriculture including but not limited to Farmer Business School Master Training Program Organized by Agri-Business Facility for Africa (ABF) in partnership with GIZ-Zambia held in Lusaka and Petauke, Zambia from March 21, to April 1, 2022. Farmer business school (FBS) organized by GIZ in Partnership with Ethical Tea Partnership year 2018, ECHO East Africa-4thbiennial symposium on sustainable agriculture best practices February 2017, business model canvas organized by Digital Opportunity trust Rwanda in 2014, computer trainings organized by ALPHA-NET Computer training center, project monitoring and evaluation course organized by Center for business skills development and management, data collecting and Entry at Concern worldwide Rwanda, Heifer international and Sesmec Limited, Gen stat and SPSS statistical data package that helps in analyzing data at National University of Rwanda. I was a biology teacher for secondary schools for the period three years.
