Work Experience

8/19 – Present Co-owner of Womrath Bookshop, located in Bronxville, New York.

Purchased one of the nation’s oldest independent bookstores (founded in 1938), learned the complex retail side of the publishing business and remain actively involved in recreating the store for the modern age, while still being available for editorial work of all sorts: writing, editing, copyreading, proofreading, etc.

10/11 – Present Owner and President, Kensington Media Group

Wrote or edited a host of editorial products, including books and special interest publications for newsstand distribution on a wide array of topics, including history, religion, sports, and popular culture. Key clients included Time Inc. Home Entertainment, Harris Publishing, and Smithsonian Books, among many others.

With a staff of up to 14 employees, my company created over 200 editorial products, including books, magazines, and newsletters. Our work spanned a wide array of subject matter, including history, celebrity, sports, science, lifestyle, music, and more. During the course of my more than 20 years in publishing I have performed virtually all of the primary editorial functions, including writing, editing, fact checking, proofreading, photo selection, and design approval.
