Description

:

Absenteeism is the term generally used to refer to unscheduled employee absences from the work place. Many causes of absenteeism are legitimate – personal illness or family issues etc but absenteeism also can often be traced to other factors such as poor work environment or workers who are not committed to their jobs. If such absences become excessive it can have serious impact on business operations and ultimately it effects to profitability.

Objectives of the study

1. To find the effect of absenteeism in an industry.

2. To know the reason for absenteeism.

3. To find the problems facing by management as well as workers.

4. To know the working of the company and to have a basic understanding about the organization

Scope of the Study

1. The study confirms to the Mysore milk dairy, Mysore. This study is restricted to the absenteeism of workers only.

2. The scope of the study is only to know the reasons causes and effect of absenteeism and also the impact of absenteeism both on management and workers of Mysore milk dairy, Mysore.

3. This study includes the analysis of reasons of absenteeism and also about the remedial actions taken to reduce the above problem.

4. Absenteeism is a burning in all most all the industries. It has been observed that the phenomenon of absenteeism does not exist only in Indian industries it is a universal fact. The difference is only in terms of magnitude.

Measures to minimize absenteeism

1. Developing good relationship between management and employees.

2. Providing leave facility based on the needs of the employees.

3. Selecting the employees by testing them thoroughly regarding their aspirations, value system, responsibility and sensitiveness.

4. Providing welfare measures and fringe benefits.

5. They should motivate the employees.

Conclusion

MYMUL has planned well-organized and implemented good human relation system. Better leave management and control on absenteeism is necessary for the survival of the company for a long period.

There should be good communication between management and employees so that they can analyze the problem of employees and also the reason for absenteeism. Because of poor relationship between supervisor and sub-ordinates may lead to absenteeism therefore superior should have control their sub-ordinates.
