GRAPHIC
DESIGN AND
MARKETING
When 2020 came, I had to find another source of
employment and income. I was able to work for Utah Valley University with their statistics department. I created graphs and used Adobe InDesign to put their research together as a PDF for their presentations. I worked from home from this time until 2021, when I decided to apply for work that would get me out of the house.
In late June of 2021, I was hired as the Graphic Designer and Marketing Specialist for the Covey Center for the Arts in Provo, Utah. This position stretched me the most beyond my capacities. It challenged me in ways I never knew of. I collaborated with other Provo City departments and worked with the Provo City council. I grew in marketing experience when marketing different show/event seasons at the Covey Center for the Arts.
I created 6 week marketing plans and followed the schedule I mapped out for myself of when to carry out different responsibilities with both graphic design and marketing. Such duties as: using free online event calendars to spread awarness of upcoming events, posting to Facebook and Instagram 3 times a day, working with local newspapers and magazines (the Daily Herald and the Villager Magazine), local newsletters Provo City put out, designing and printing banners, posters and flyers. Designing and working with billboard companies to display billboards of our upcoming shows.
I would work on a weekly Newsletter to send out to 20k+ people weekly on Wednesday. My responsibilities expanded to working on putting together playbills for the shows the Covey Center would put on, and working with Alpha Graphics to have them printed. Clients I worked with were from small dance classes offered by the Covey Center, clients who rented out the space, such as the Utah Metropolitan Ballet and numerous tribute bands, free community concerts and theater productions inside the Covey Center, known as ‘Black-Box’ shows.

ILLUSTRATIVE
WORKS
In August 2017, I created a logo with two other variants for a woman named KC Owens. KC trains dogs from the day they are born, to be service dogs for Type 1 Diabetics. The designs were printed as stickers for those who wanted them. KC’s website can be reached here:

Sincerely,
Sydney MIllett
My name is Sydney Millett. I am a graphic
designer with marketing experience, product designer and freelance digital illustrator. I am writing to acquaint you with my work. I create graphics/products as a way to convey information of products, shows
and events to fulfill what client and employer want. One of my favorite aspects about creating, is that I can give feeling with professionalism to brands, logos, posters, banners, flyers, album covers and more. I have created mockups from T-shirts to stationary kits for restaurants. I am comfortable with working with an already established style guide, and have experience doing so.
I am interested in creating graphics that are
easy to understand and convey what both client
employer want. My personal digital paintings and
artwork are ways for me to bring others in to see how I express myself. When I create, whether it be personal, commission based or what my employer wants, I
seek to give the artwork I’m creating personality and emotion, that is easy to convey. Most importantly, I make sure I am communicating effectively with both client and employer. I work with them closely and
make sure that they are up to speed with what I’m
doing. Above all, I make sure they are pleased with the results I give them.
I continue to work on my own projects and
freelance commissions. If you find my works of
interest, I would be pleased to provide additional information about my processes and works. You can
