Freelance Contract & Temporary Assignments -

Interim Payroll Tax Consultant - Pacific Photography, Inc - Van Nuys, CA Oct 2022 – Jun 2023

I was contacted by the former owner and CEO of the company to come and start a project of extracting

Payroll Tax Payments and Employment Tax returns as well as various Payroll reports to prepare for an

upcoming audit by The State of Georgia. There were many files that had been archived and sent offsite

for “record retention” purposes which myself and a Temp employee I hired to extract the files and

bring them to a centralized office. There was also a large amount of information to be imported to Excel

and information which had not been through the reconciliation process at the time which I ended up completing upon the request of the owner. What was anticipated to be a 3-month project ended up being

over 7 months. The project was completed with the former owner updated me recently to the fact that the

audit was a big success and the auditors commented on the “detail ability” which was very efficient and

precise.

Jan 2022 to Present

I have worked the past 15 months as a contractor doing 2 long term Payroll and Accounting Assignments, one for a Restaurant Company in North Beach which owned Tosca’s, Marlowe’s,

Leo’s. This was to assist the HR Department in getting all the locations bac online after the Covid-19

pandemic. I had to audit 1-9 and w4 forms and set up a new filing system for Payroll.

The Job Shop - Front Desk and Concierge assignments through the San Francisco employment agency

to do several “as needed” work orders at The following Hotels in San Francisco, The Harrison, Infinity

Towers, Veterans Commons. These were mostly Swing shift and Graveyard assignments to cover for

employees who are out sick or on vacation. It involved checking in Guests, Giving Directions,

answering multi-line phone systems.I also did a fair amount of data entry and kept the area clean.

Sr Manager HR, Payroll, & Employment Tax

I was promoted to a managerial role taking on HR, Payroll, Benefits, Tax and General Services after 6 months of employment. The majority of HR had been terminated by the “acting CEO & President” of the company. I was asked to also hire a Supervisor which would also be my “pier”, to take A/P, A/R, Billing and Finance G/L. they would take on the duties in those areas. My area totaled 16 employees and the new Supervisor had 14 of her own.

●I was asked to return for 4 months in 2022 to assist with an audit as a Consultant/Contractor.

●Performed data entry, Vendor Maintenance, A/P Check Distribution, Monthly Financial Statements, Budget Forecast, Payroll Processing for 520 to 940 employees Bi-Weekly & Semi-Monthly (Nonexempt and Exempt).

●Utilized Payroll Systems ADP, Ceridian & QuickBooks, Intermediate Excel, Word and Outlook.

●Downloaded needed archived reports from Master Tax to reconcile payments to the 941.

●"Hands on" Processing of Payroll Tax Filing and knowledge in-depth of Federal, State and Local regulations and reciprocal agreements between states.

●Signed and approved all EFT’s, AP Check Requests, and Federal Tax Deposit info before IRS transmission.

●In-depth knowledge of State(s) Unemployment (SUI) Wage Details and Annual Update of Experience Ratings

●Filed Quarterly Returns, Annual Reconciliations, W2 and W2c PROCESSING, 1099 Processing, 941, 941c, 940, and Local, School and Occupational Taxes. Multi State Payroll Taxes (16 states).

●On Boarded all new Hire information

●Processed and calculated PAF's, rate of pay, I-9, W-4, 401K

●Set up benefits and other deductions, interpretation of Child Support, IRS Tax Levy, and other Garnishments.

●Processed terminations in compliance with California and all other states by distributing employees' last payroll checks within deadlines, PTO Pay-Outs, Sick Pay Guidelines.

●Stayed up to date on EEOC, OSHA, SSA, Federal and State Level Department of Labor Rules and Regulatory items, Federal Wage and Hour (Including Minimum Wage).

●Cross Checked and Balanced Time Sheets.

●Polled Kronos Time Reporting (Time Clock) and ran the Repgen process.

HR or Payroll AD HOC Reports and kept the filing of all HR and Payroll reports in an efficient confidential area.

During a peak month like September we distributed over 940 Paychecks on a bi-weekly basis and the Corporate

Payroll which was an additional 120 paychecks with employees across 16 states.
