Master of Science – Automotive Engineering, Clemson University (CU-ICAR), SC, USA (GPA: 3.61/4) Dec 2023 Relevant Coursework: Systems Engineering, Automotive Electronics, Automotive Control Systems, Stability and Safety Systems, and Electric Machines and AC Circuit Drives. Master of Science – Mobility Systems, Kettering University, MI, USA (GPA: 4/4) Jan 2022 – Jun 2022 Relevant Coursework: Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Powertrains, Automotive Drivelines, Modeling of Dynamic Systems.

Bachelor of Engineering – Automobile, PSG College of Technology, India (GPA: 3.26/4) Sep 2020 Relevant Coursework: Automotive Transmissions, Vehicle Dynamics, Batteries and Fuel Cells. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Controls Software Intern – Robert Bosch LLC, Farmington Hills, Michigan, USA Jun 2023 – Present

• Developed a proof of concept in Python for Electronic Logging Device (ELD) algorithm, geared towards cloud deployment. This solution accurately records Hours of Service (HOS) to comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations for commercial trucks and buses.

• Collaborated cross-functionally with multiple teams (UI/UX, Cloud Architects, and Data Engineering) to successfully execute and manage cloud deployment initiatives and application development.

• Developed model-based safety function (ETAS ASCET) to protect the CVT transmissions by limiting engine torque based on CVT belt temperature and driveline torque slip.

• Analyzed CAN data from the Freightliner Cascadia (Class 8 truck) and equipped the telematic device with the necessary CAN signals (SAE J1939) to be sent to the cloud to optimize vehicle performance, monitor driver behavior, improve fuel efficiency, and enhance safety. Research Assistant – 3D Printing Lab, Kettering University, Flint, Michigan, USA Jan 2022 – Jun 2022

• Collaborated with students and clients to understand project needs and crafted custom 3D CAD models using

(Tinkercad) to precisely match those requirements.

• Utilized (Cura) to perform the slicing of 3D models, generating G-codes, and monitored the printing process to ensure both quality and efficiency.

Design and Development Internship – Roots Industries, Coimbatore, India Dec 2019 – Mar 2020

• Developed a 3D CAD model of a VIBROSONIC type horn from 2D sketches.

• Determined the optimum riveting load by vibrational FEA analysis and utilized it in the assembly plant.

• Redesigned the armature rod and improved the yield strength of the armature rod by 9% and resulted in increased durability of the horn.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Hitch Angle Control for Tractor-Trailer Combination Spring 2023

• Developed a four degree of freedom bicycle model to capture the dynamics of tractor-trailer combination.

• Implemented LQR and PID controller to obtain desired yaw moment for the hub motors and steer angles for active steering to control the hitch angle of the articulated vehicles during maneuver.

• Performed co-simulation in TruckSim to determine the efficacy of the developed controller and compared the actuation efforts of the controllers.

Autonomous Lane Tracking (Stanley controller) and Road Sign Detection Spring 2023

• Implemented the Stanley controller on the RC car to autonomously follow the specified path using the camera.

• Deployed a cascaded object detector and trained the models to detect school zone and stop signs placed along the path. When a stop sign is detected, the RC car stops for 2 seconds, and when a school zone sign is detected, the speed of the RC car is reduced by half.

State estimation using Kalman Filter Fall 2022

• Implemented Kalman filter to estimate the time data from a noisy ultrasound sensor and adapted the same technique to fuse distance data from multiple ultrasound sensors for accurate distance estimation. Autonomous Lane Keeping and Adaptive Cruise Control Fall 2022

• Deployed a PID controller as real-time embedded program on an Arduino microcontroller to control steering and throttle as actuators for Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). This allowed RC car to autonomously navigate a specified track with the assistance of multiple ultrasonic sensors. Model-based control for Adaptive Cruise Control Fall 2022

• Developed an Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) systems using a full-state feedback controller with controller gains determined through Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR). Modeling and analysis of Electric Powertrain of Mustang Mach-E Spring 2022

• Modeled the electric vehicle powertrain of Mustang Mach-E and determined the vehicle level energy requirements, performance characteristics, and motor operating points for standard driving cycles.

• Estimated the range for both a charge-sustaining HEV with a turbocharged gasoline engine model and a BEV by developing a constant current discharge battery model.

• Validated the developed models using the Model-in-the-Loop (MIL) technique. SKILLS

Software: MS Office, Matlab, Simulink, State-flow, SimScape, SolidWorks, NX, Ansys, Arduino, LT Spice, C, C++, Python, CANalyzer, DiagRA D, ETAS Tools (ASCET, INCA, MDA), TruckSim, GitLab, Azure DevOps (Boards), Tinkercad, Ultimaker (Cura).

Leadership: Led college tennis team for three consecutive years from 2017 till 2020 towards various championships.
