Pasco County Public Transportation primary role is to manage day-to-day fixed-route operations: having safe vehicles, running routes on-time, resolving interruptions in service, handling customer service issues, investigating and documenting incidents and accidents, training, coaching, and correcting staff members, driving routes, and so on.
Manages overtime and payroll for 109 FTE drivers, dispatchers, and supervisors, who work 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. six days a week.
In the spring of 2019 reduced staff overtime from $267,525 in Q 1-2, to $190,117 in Q 3-4, a 29% reduction.
Helped revamp the west-side fixed-route shift schedule, which started January 2020. The new plan eliminates scheduled overtime, eliminates unnecessary dual-driver coverage, ensures each driver works the full 40 hours we pay them, ensures each driver works only a morning shift or an evening shift throughout the week, and more evenly distributes the workload throughout the week.
