Nature of Duties: My responsibilities include Receipt, Handling and storage of LPG & petroleum/ Chemical products at the Terminal, Marine operations and HSE Operations and serving the industry as an Engineer (Operations).

Key Responsibility:

Ensures area operating personnel, understands the guidelines prescribed in O & M manual and operations are carried out accordingly.

Work permit system.

Man entry control and planning of contract labour.

Preparation Of checklist for new equipment.

Terminal safety.

Duties in Detail:

a.At Terminal :

Receipt, Handling, storage, reconciliation and dispatch of LP Gas, petrochemicals (HSD, MS, Naphtha, Gas Condensate) and chemicals(Styrene Monomer,IPA, Acetone, n-Hexane, Toluene & Methanol ).

Control room operations (OIL’s & LPG receipt and Dispatch panel duties) and communication system.

Preparation of daily and monthly outturn’s and MIS report.

Product finalization and daily reconciliation & inventory control.

Continuous communicating with operators for safe operations.

Maintaining the training schedules of the operators / area in charges.

Pump house operations, maintaining log sheets, observation of rates and pressure’s.

In touch with other departments for smooth operations.

Maintaining documentation for every stage of operation.

Regular inspection of tank farm & Cross country lines.

Tank / spheres line up during ship off - loading and T/T loading.

Monitoring of flow rate and pressure and temperature while transferring.

Preparation of Cross Country Lines for receiving various products, Pigging operation.

Cleaning / suitably preparing for storing the chemicals with a prime objective of quality of the product being stored.

Interactions with customers like SHV Energy, HPCL, IOCL, BPCL, Essar Oil, Reliance, GAIL, Adani Exports and Trident etc.

b. Marine Co-Ordination (Oil Wharf):

Vessel positioning at berth, hose connection and off – loading/loading of petroleum products like high speed diesel, petrol (motor spirit), naphtha,gas condensate petro-chemical like methanol, IPA, Acetone and liquefied petroleum gas.

Hourly time log sheet preparation.

Pigging operations of c/c line for different products with liquid nitrogen gas

Maintaining safety while vessel off - loading.

Maintaining documentation all stages of operation.

Co-ordination with port control, C & F agents, Safety Surveyors for ship movement.

Co-ordination with port for safe berthing of the ship regarding safety operations, environmental aspects.

c. HSE:

Manage company’s activities to minimize environmental and socio-economic impact.

Participated actively in fire fighting activity and foam blackening. (Mock drill).

As a member in safety committee, making a safe procedure’s for accident free operations.

Overseeing and good knowledge in Fire Fighting facilities and foam system.

The organization was certified by LRQA for its conformity with EMS and OHSAS standards.

Ensure visible management commitment to HSE issues.

Preparation of safe operating procedures.

d. SV3: Suctionized Valve 3:

Co-ordination with SALPG & HPCL & CONTROL ROOM OF EIPL for line through (ROV ON/OFF) Operations.
