CAD Integration’s primary purpose is to integrate the CAD Models and other design data from different

ALS-U subsystems into one complete digital representation of the ALS-U design using CREO 8 and Windchill.

oWithin the CAD Integration group, I provided Lab-Wide CREO Engineering and Technical support, utilizing 20+ years of knowledge and experience using Pro/Engineer/CREO techniques, tips, tricks and best practices. Engineering tasks included creating, maintaining and sectorizing large ALS-U CREO Sector Interface assemblies, Facilities Interface assemblies and additional larger assemblies for various Engineering Team capabilities as well as various additional large assemblies, parts, drawings and etc

oAs part of the Magnets Group, I was tasked with creating in and maintaining Quadrupoles, Sextupoles, Dipoles and other Magnet Assemblies in CREO 6.0, based on calculations from the Staff Engineer concerning the correct pole tip trajectory, coils, yokes and associated machining for incorporation into the Accumulator Ring. Engineering Design is specifically for the ALS-U or Advanced Light Source project. Drawings, Bill of Materials and Renderings were also created using CREO 4.0

oAs an integral member of the Facilities Team, I was tasked with creating space claim Magnetic Measurement facility models in CREO 6.0 for a new, proposed staging area to create newly designed dipoles, quadrupoles, sextupoles and etc. magnets. This task involved recreating an existing High Bay CAD model, and incorporating various magnetic measurement facility equipment such as forklifts, cranes, desks, rotating coils workstations, CMM machine, Mapper machine, Power Supplies, Manikins and etc.

oAt Berkeley Lab, we use KeyShot to generate renderings of all 3D parts and assemblies.
