Vice-President Finance Division Controller Manager Enterprise Accounting
Key member of senior executive team reporting to the president of a $400M global advance materials manufacturer that is a division of a $12B global engineering company. Led international Finance and IT organization for NA, Germany, Romania, China, and Korea. Ensured reliability of all financial systems, adherence to GAAP & IFRS, while keeping a strong eye on corporate governance. Directed and coordinated strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
Led $55M insurance recovery as result of an unplanned business interruption. Provided financial impact analysis to senior management and board, weekly updates including forecasts, cash management, inventory control, progress updates, and documentation for insurance claim.
Developed finance team and processes for greenfield operation in Germany. Recruited local accounting team, selected and implemented management reporting system (Mesonic) that would support local statutory requirements and production and costing needs of our business, and insured all controls and governance were in place.
Saved $4M in 1st quarter after invoking a change to raw material commodity surcharge tool. Advised and determined impact of moving surcharge tool from quarterly to monthly.
Implemented business information system that brought together key data from 5 legacy ERP systems (Infor BPCS, BAAN, Mesonic, Mecronics & KKP). Led Finance and IT group to develop mapping into data management system, validated source ERP system, and trained management team and end-users.
Successfully designed processes to integrate a key Romanian acquisition into the GKN corporate structure. Led implementation of ERP system (Mesonic), mentored on the use of accruals, and achieved process improvements, resulting in reducing the closing period by 20 days. Standardized costing system to parallel what was in use through out the Division.
