OBJECTIVE
Applying for a job in the Biomedical Engineering field.
EDUCATION
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute 2013-2016
B.S. in Biomedical Engineering
GPA: 3.07
GPA for last 60 credits: 3.42
AWARDS
Gold Award July 2012 – October 2013
Deans List August 2015 – May 2016
LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE
On staff for a Girl Scout day camp; Song Leader Summer 2010, 2011, and 2012
Developed song book and was in charge of making sure leaders were doing what they were supposed to be doing.
Delegate for Service Unit 2013
Went to Service Unit meetings and then went to the state wide meeting and voted on behalf of my Service Unit and reported on what happened at the state meeting.
RELATED EXPERIENCE
Independent Study (Tissue engineering) August 2014-December 2014
Cell culture, including stem cells, Co-culture, Gels, Collagen,
Hanks buffer, grew Stem Cells, HMVEC’s and Fibroblasts to
create tube like structures using a 3D matrix of collagen. I was
able to form tubes both in the 3D matrix and without by using
the fibroblast cells.
Biomedical Engineering Lab January 2016 - May 2016
Performed various labs relating to biomechanics (strain on a Harrington rod) and biomaterials (creating hydrogels to act as a scaffold for cells).
I learned about spectrophotometry, image analysis, how to write a paper for a journal, and how to keep a proper lab notebook.
Biomedical Engineering Design January 2016 - May 2016
I worked on a team to create a hydraulic compression device to slow bleeding from postpartum hemorrhage. I learned the process for developing a product, how to patent said product, information about manufacturing, and the FDA process. We have a provisional patent for this device.
Drug and Gene Delivery August 2016 – December 2016
I learned about drugs and genes, various ways to deliver them, and pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics, as well as how to improve or alter the delivery system for current drugs or genes.
Independent Study July 2016 – Present
The experiment is to compare subjects stress in high and low carbon dioxide environments. Helped create surveys and watch and lead human subjects during the experiment. I also helped analyze the data from the experiment. I also created an online version of the N-back task to use for the experiment.
