PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
The fastest wine bottling line in North America was losing 7% to 8% of effectiveness due to skewing of our cases. The problem mired production lines, and several redesigns didn’t help. I discovered the problem by an inspection of the warehouse cases. The corner protectors were flimsy and the impacts deflected all the corner cases out of square. I replaced the corrugated corner boards with stout laminated protectors and a reuse program was instituted. Production immediately increased by 8%.
Designed 12 pack beer carrier that can be used by a 24 bottle case filler.
Designed a 24 bottle wine case that could be easily split into 2-12 packs with all sides printable that was patented.
Our company lost sales due to an inability of salesmen in the field to access program to recommend a cost effective paper combination. Nor could they access the information by phone, resulting in lost sales due to ambiguous answers. I designed a spreadsheet employing an algorithm based on the company’s actual paper qualities as manufactured. Sales reps and designers could access the data. I certified the results with 2 experts in predicting paper performance at the mill. This allowed sales reps to offer immediate data to customers, increased sales, and the predictive compression is now based on the paper mill’s product.
