SENIOR DIRECTOR OF IT INFRASTRUCTURE, NORTH AMERICA 2005 – 2016
Led and managed a staff of 55 individuals with a $60M annual budget and comprehensive responsibility for North American IT infrastructure including, system wide availability, ITSM and ITIL framework, overall performance metrics and monitoring, strategy, governance, standards, vendor management and procurement, and resource management. Provided strategic leadership related to all infrastructure and operational needs in supporting over 5300 customers in 43 locations across North America as well as the ERP systems for Asia and Australia. Served as the North American Head of Security, HIPAA Security Officer, and chief liaison for the North American legal team for all data and security needs. Expanded role to include oversight of facilities management for the corporate headquarters.

Played a key role in managing the $3.3B planned acquisition of a major competitor, which entailed negotiating Transition Service Agreements (TSAs) and reverse TSAs, IT cost projections, leading DOJ data collection, and pre-and post-merger IT integration planning.

Managed all aspects of the IT operations department, with responsibility for ITSM and ITIL framework, workflow, testing, troubleshooting, system upgrades and implementations, vendor management, hardware procurement, infrastructure planning and administration. Hired, cultivated, and supervised a multi-disciplinary team of 35 technical specialists while managing a budget of more than $14M. Maintained, monitored, and optimized the availability and performance of an IT footprint for the UNIX, Windows, and Novell servers, the Network Operations Center (NOC), as well as AS400/Vax machines, data center facilities, enterprise monitoring, and disaster recovery.
Simultaneously reduced the data center annual outsourcing budget by $200K and spearheaded a server consolidation and virtualization initiative which produced an additional $400K in savings while enhancing security and availability.
Managed a team in solving a data integrity problem by creating an enterprise SAN and tape backup architecture (utilizing EMC, Storage Technology, and Veritas) which was implemented in seven remote locations as well as the enterprise data center.
