Responsible for the safe manufacture of Uranium Hexaflouride (UF6) to support fuel needed for nuclear energy. Accountable for multiple process systems including production of pure fluorine, environmental systems treating waste, distillation, fluidized bed reactors and cylinder loading. Responsible for 5 shift superintendents, 12 supervisors, 6 engineers, 2 planners and indirect workforce of 106 employees operating in a 24/7 union environment. Responsible for day to day operations of Polyacrylonitrile (PAN precursor, synthetic acrylic) processes. Participate in the development and execution of behavior-based safety programs to proactively address departmental safety issues, fostered operator engagement to identify hazards and applicable engineering design to eliminate hazards and minimize operator exposure.

Led initiative to minimize risk to PAN supply. Elements included spare equipment, redundant utility and water treatment systems, power systems and waste treatment systems.

Led cross-functional teams to identify capital projects to reduce product changeovers, maintenance downtime, reduce unit turnarounds and enhance preventative maintenance programs.

Develop plans to hire additional employees to support expansion efforts.

Responsible for raw material planning to align with product demand, shipping schedules, contract requirements for raw material procurement and logistics planning to ensure product was delivered on time to sites in U.S. and Spain.
