Subject: Plant Manager
I am submitting a resume and cover letter for the Plant Manager Position and I believe that the level of my skills and experience match well to your future needs and requirements.
I have held the full management responsibility for everything from Manufacturing Plants and Operations Management to product delivery (managing up to 3 facilities concurrent), manufacturing precision Mechanical and Electrical Devices and Systems for commercial and government use. Included responsibilities were: Customer Service, Operations, Manufacturing, Lean Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Configuration, Managing Purchasing as well as bringing new products and concepts online, to managing and negotiating with customers or vendors (with World Class Service).
In my previous 25 plus years of management: Manufacturing Plant Manager, Director of Operations, and Operations Manager. I have had to supervise the maintenance of the facilities and the manufacturing equipment, implement renovation and manage new plant construction projects as well as implement new work centers, etc.
I have managed most of my career in the Manufacturing Industries (Managing: Assembly, QA, Test, Product Lifecycle, Order entry thru to Order Shipment): PCB's MFG, SMT, Through-hole, cables, internet, telephony, RF and Military Systems, Products, and Accessories. As well as some strictly machine product companies. This experience extends through all kinds of products and types of equipment and facilities. In companies as diverse as Satellite imagery, internet products, telephony, and counter-terrorism equipment. With complicated electronics to box build equipment as well as wire and metal products (using CNC equipment: mills, press brakes, presses, and shears).
I have also managed multiple purely Mechanical Manufacturing and Assembly using steel, sheet metal and wire products. On the defense side; manufacturing large base stations (18ft, 36ft, 40ft), loaded with high-tech components using mechanical and electrical systems (high & low voltages). Besides electrical systems several of these plants used raw metal in - finished products out. Machine welded as well as MIG and TIG welded products. As well as sheet metal and wire to form, fold or stamp into sheet metal or wire products and shelving. These were high quality and accuracy/specific items that would also be painted or powdered coated when finished.
As the Senior Manager, I have had to meet KPI’s, plan and schedule plant production: centers, personnel, and equipment. I have managed implementation from scratch of ISO 9000, as well as continued improvements of quality and ISO 9000 systems. I have taken a plant that was mid-level to low on safety and brought it to number 1 and winner of company safety award (#1of 8). As well as keep the safety of the workers and staff always as a first priority.
The benefits associated with a manager of my experience level: I have managed and developed team environments with all types of employees: union employees, hourly, salaried, professionals, and managers as well as managed sub-contractors. Mentoring Managers, Supervisors, Foremen in Mfg. And ops as well as Professionals Employees in planning, supply chain, materials, and purchasing. Dealing directly with customers and keeping them satisfied, while doing the above I have defused problems, implemented programs across all levels. All while putting customer service first and keeping on schedule and within budgets.
Over my 25 year career as Senior Manager, I have personally done the Planning, Formulating, Scheduling of company operations involving all of the above (producing $50M per qtr.) as well as new product introduction, managing sub-contractors, choosing subs and negotiating pricing. At several companies, I also managed and was responsible for a customer service departments, call centers (175 plus million dollar range) as well as foreign customers. Dealing direct with customers that are DOD/Gov. and state, I also dealt directly with allied Gov. Sales.
Managing companies, planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling departments while meeting and exceeding requirements to make our organization the best has been my strong suit. I have been succeeding not only in one type of business but multiple types of business from space imagery; machined products to electronics in ISO9000 and Military/DOD thru commercial products, internet systems, telephony products, and services. Keeping Safety, Quality and Customer requirements the top priority!
Thanks for your consideration!
