Basic Functions & Scope of above two positions:
As part of the team, for the Petrodar Operating/StarOil Companies reservoirs with a STOIIP in excess of 6 billion barrels. My duties include:
Provides inputs for well test proposal which includes well test objectives, procedures, selection of testing type sand selection of test intervals with the agreement and coordination between Geological Section, Exploration and Production Departments. Review and analyze acquired data integrity and interpret well test data using appropriate software.
Recommends acquisitions of representative fluid sample and coring intervals for laboratory measurement techniques used in laboratory for fluid and rock data and provide analysis to determine the validity of the laboratory measurement using PVTi module simulation and other techniques and equations to predict representative fluid and rock behavior.
Carry out reservoir management activities such as:
I.Carry out reservoir and well performance evaluation and monitoring which necessitate the application of decline curve, material balance studies,reservoir simulation updates, pressure transient analysis & Production optimization initiatives (well work-over, pump optimization) to increase production and field/well recoverable reserves.
II.Use analytical methods such as WOR & WOR’ and integrate dynamic and static data or run Production Logging Test (PLT) to identify the water production source and set mitigation plans (Mechanical, Chemical or Change completion strategy) to shut-off or control water production.
III.Design surveillance programs including pressure transient surveys, tracer surveys, interference testing and cased hole logging programs. Monitor flood front movement and identify the depletion zones and see the possibilities of add new perforation.
IV.Follow up water injection implantation and the impact of water injection for nearby producer’s performance as well as injector wells proposal preparation.
V.Carry out pattern balancing calculation and ensure uniform production and injection process in order to select the optimum VRR.
VI.Identify opportunities for improving well performance, workover jobs, well stimulation and production enhancement. Follow up on drilling, completions activities.
VII.Carry out well test interpretation using Saphir Software.
VIII.Carry out Pressure and Temperature Survey (static and buildup) in order to determine formation latest data and characteristics (P, T, skin, k, Productivity, Injectivity etc)
Acts as Company focal person for hydrocarbon resources reporting using SPE guidelines which requires the establishment and maintenance of good well production data, field data and reserves figures, and this achieved via performing of Annual Review of Petroleum Resource (ARPR) including: reserve estimation utilizing Simulation, volumetric method, decline curve analysis and material balance methods. Also Annual reserve reporting as Ultimate Recovery (UR), Potential Recovery (PR), Speculative Resources (SR), and applied both of reserve definition (1P, 2P, 3P & EV) and (P1, P2, P3 &EV)
Work as Team Leader focal point of running the Production Logging Test (PLT) in Company and I had completed more than 10 PLTs jobs including

Participates in the definition of contracted special field testing related to reservoir engineering. Includes defining scope of special tests for Reservoir Engineering, preparing specifications and evaluating bids. Monitor contractor compliance with contract terms and schedules and details progress and performance in regular activity reports.
Establish the near term, short term and long term well and field/project production forecast.
Carry out Full Field Review studies with an integrated Team to assess well/reservoir/field performance, identify further development opportunities (acid stimulation, infill drilling, sand cleaning, and water shut- off) and activities necessary to be undertaking to enhance oil production rate and recovery.
Work with team to provide reservoir engineering evaluation including establishment of fluid contacts, pressure transient analysis, reservoir simulation work and analysis,reserves estimation,drainage plans,production forecasting, establishment of reservoir management plan and recommend the optimum development option and Cost-effective technology applications to create maximum value from the hydrocarbon reserves.
Cary out the Development Technical Review presentation (DTR) & Field Performance workshop of the main field in Company, normally half Annually.
Conduct static model upscale using Petrel software and dynamic simulation on base case of static model of each prospect using ECLIPSE software based on 3D static geological model with the following objectives:
I.Detailed preparation on simulation input data such as formation pressure and temperature, test results, relative permeability and rock properties, fluid and reservoir properties and also dynamic data.
II.Detailed simulation model (using Eclipse Black oil ) model construction, initialization.
III.To use Local Grid Refinement model for wells with suspected coning, poor history matching and for future horizontal wells.
IV.To provide a full study and enhancement plans such as water injection, including WHIP (Well Head Injection Pressure) and amount of injection water for all injectors in its reservoir simulation study, or any other secondary recovery methods.
V.To provide production rate sensitivity simulation.
VI.To provide horizontal well planning study.
VII.Examine the ways to maximize recovery in terms of well pattern/spacing, off take rate, completion strategy, and depletion strategy etc.
VIII.Generate field production forecast of every development scenario.
IX.Determine the optimum development scenario.
X.Review the development of combination vertical and horizontal wells to improve recovery and project economics.
XI.Determine recovery factor and recoverable reserves.
