Jr. Survey Programmer (Co-op), Survey Delivery, Greenwich Associates Nov 2014 - Mar 2015
Coded Perl scripts as demanded by project requirements by collaborating with technical and non-technical resources and saved up to 10 hours per week of processing time required to undertake quality control
Created and managed Unix shell scripts to automate testing procedures
Increased efficiency and operability of existing processes by up to 50% by creating Excel macros
Automated custom made shell scripts via crons and decreased manual supervision required for daily ‘business as usual’ tasks
Performed data analysis and aggregation activities to produce the required results for clients using Excel, PowerPivot and Perl programming
Events Officer, American Society of Mechanical Engineers Ryerson Chapter Sep 2016 - Present
Worked with a diverse team of ASME to organize various academic and nonacademic events
Organized manufacturing plants tours, personality enhancing workshops, 3D printing workshop and networking events
Conducted regular ASME Ryerson Chapter meetings to make it a more prominent group among students PROJECTS
PLC Controlled Photo Frame Plant, Manufacturing System Controls Sep 2016 – Dec 2016
Spearheaded a team of 4 to design an PLC controlled photo frame assembly plant and built a strong understanding of the engineering design process
Formulated a user centered design by implementing human factors engineering into design and investigating human-system interactions on multiple personas
Modified various subcomponents of the PLC system and improved its efficiency 2
Dolly Design, Machine Design Project Jan 2016 – Apr 2016
Worked with a group 5 people to design a working model of a trailer dolly from scratch
Starting from engineering drawings every aspect was taken into consideration, like the structural constraints
Engineering calculations were done using the help of Solidworks to check the safety of the dolly when being operated under extreme conditions
The final design was presented with a fully detailed report, explaining all the features of the trailer dolly MechBot Programming Design Project, Microprocessor Systems Jan 2016 – Apr 2016
Programmed a readymade MechBot (Robot Car) to perform the required task, working alongside 2 other students
C and Assembly languages were used to program the Arduino fitted MechBot to clear predefined maze obstacles. Altogether, distance sensors, line sensors and bumpers of the car were used to clear the maze.
Learned to automate different kinds of robots to assign them a predefined task Thermal Power Plant, Thermodynamics Design Project Sep 2015 – Dec 2015
Lead a team of 5 to design a Thermal Power Plant, using Rankine Cycle
Conducted regular group meetings and made a timeline to keep track of the research and work completed
Considering economic, geographical and other constraints enhanced the efficiency of the power plant to the maximum possible output
Used MATLAB to get the best efficiency by running around a fifty thousand different combinations of data available Crane Mechanism, Mechanical Engineering Design Jan 2015 – Apr 2015
Designed a working model of crane for a Manufacturing course project
Brainstormed the basic design using engineering drawings and did engineering calculations to check the sustainability of the design
Designed the working model of the crane using SolidWorks. Assembled the laser cut out pieces of Acrylic to be later used in the competition
