CLINICAL EXPOSURE IN SERVICE.

• Independently operated cases on CPB (adult, pediatric,)

• Independently performed Off Pump CABG cases.

• Different types of cardioplegia solutions used (st.thomas, delnido, CPG)

•Assemble, maintain and operate extracorporeal circulation equipment, intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP) and other heart assist devices to support or temporarily replace patient's cardiopulmonary functions during open-heart surgery.

•Administer blood products, drugs and other substances through heart-lung machines and other devices as directed by cardiac surgeons and anesthetists

•Monitor vital signs to maintain patient's physiological functions during cardiopulmonary bypass surgery.

•Determine blood characteristics such as activated clotting time, oxygen saturation, Analysis of blood gases and electrolytes.

• Pre bypass patient assessment

• Management & operation of

• Intra aortic balloon pump (IABP)

• Haemoconcentrator

• Hemotherm for warming and cooling during bypass

• Working as a team member

• Operating sensitive perfusion equipment

• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, chemistry, physics, and sterile techniques.
