MMA is a part of the Mission Hospital System that reports and manages the finance and accounting of over 700 doctors and advanced practitioners (AP) in the surrounding Western North Carolina area. My duties ensure proper recording of general ledger transactions throughout the reporting period within established timelines, using the guidelines of generally accepted accounting standards and principles (GAAP). I ensure that internal and external audit adjustments are minimal through proper recording of general ledger transactions. I support the timely presentation of the financial reports of over 121 cost centers and growing. My expertise is in physician compensation which includes: fair market value, maintenance and execution of contacts with Mission legal in accordance to healthcare regulations, quarterly production reporting for each doctor and AP as well as supplemental compensation and addendum changes. My strength is what Mission calls a creator/pioneer. I incorporate new processes to make good processes great (examples: uploading refunds a three day process improved to hours, mail merging supplemental pay notifications from hours to minutes). I maintain advanced skill levels and knowledge to use Lawson (accounting system) and other systems (excel) to stay ahead and most effective at my job.

At Hubbell I reported directly to HUBS, Hubbell’s corporate office in Connecticut. Hubbell is a 125 year old company, with revenues of over $3 billion a year; they manufacture and distribute electrical and electronic products worldwide. Responsibilities included but were not limited to intercompany account reconciliation and transfers, journal entries, depreciation, prepaid accounts, fixed assets and sending electronic funding/deposits. The position included logistics charge analysis of over $130 million, financial statements, variance reporting for five distribution centers, and HUBS balance sheet reconciliation. I assisted in preparing year end schedules, various financial reports to managers as requested and a major participant in a three day monthly close. Responsible for maintaining a proficient accounts payables for eighteen cost centers and two profit centers, HUBS logistics, sourcing, payroll, capital projects, IT and communications. Along the lines of accounts payable, I reported multiple states use tax, got proper approval that was in compliance to company policy and audited employee expense reports. Tasks require extensive use of SAP and advanced Excel.

I administered payroll and benefits for commissioned and salaried employees. I worked one-on-one with department managers in preparing and managing their monthly, yearly, and projected budgets. I managed all forms of assets, liabilities, incomes, expenses, journal entries, depreciation, and annual audits with CPA firm. Tasks required advanced QuickBooks Pro and MS Office.
