OBJECTIVE

Software Engineer seeking employment in a software related field utilizing analytical and problem solving skills to solve technical problems achieving company goals and learning new technologies. CompTIA Security+ ce certified.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in software design, implementation, code, unit test, functional test, verification test, integration test, system test and performance analysis in distributed processor Real Time Operating System Embedded System environments. Expertise in System Integration and Verification Test including test design, test development, test execution and scripting/automation. Experience in voice/data networking.

EXPERIENCE

Self-Employed Consultant for Mobile Impact Group at Sprint, Reston, VA

Mobile Test Engineer

Provided Consulting services to Sprint in their 4G operations lab with primary objective of certifying and integrating 3rd party devices (HTC, Samsung, Motorola, IPAD) to operate in Sprints 4G WiMAX network. Executed certification tests to verify compliance of device for Sprint’s RANs for various 4G devices. Worked with Vendors and Sprint to resolve issues and provide device logs as required. Used Wireshark logs to verify MIP device connection to networks. Most of these devices had Wifi (802.11) Router functionality that required configuration.

AEROTEK - Research Triangle Park, NC

Mobile Test Engineer

Contract engineer at Sony Ericsson responsible for AT&T Compliance testing in protocol areas specifically Enhanced Operator Name Service and Enhanced Network Selection. Responsibilities require executing AT&T 10776 automated scripts on Anite SAS Network Simulator and assisting with A-GPS AT&T 10776 testing.

Sony Ericsson - Research Triangle Park, NC

Senior Staff Software Engineer – Mobile Test Engineer Member of Product Responsible Test Team

Member of Product Responsible test team. Primarily responsible for Assisted Global Positioning System Application testing. Executed Minimum Performance and Protocol Industry standard tests on automated test systems (Open Mobile Alliance 34.171 UMTS Minimum Performance Tests and 50.010 GSM Minimum Performance Tests). Performed interoperability E911 testing at customer sites in different cell network infrastructures. Performed usability and testing for A-GPS applications in User Equipment. As member of Product Responsible Team also responsible for Multimedia application testing (RTP video and audio streaming). Rational Clearquest used as bug reporting tracking tool.

Senior Engineer – Self-Employed Contractor

Mobile Test Engineer

Provided interoperability, feature, function and field evaluation (drive) testing services for handheld/portable wireless network devices. Release testing for all MS User Interface functionality provided (SMS, MMS, IM, EMAIL, Content, etc.). Function testing for Multimedia and Camera applications in GSM devices provided. Used customer specific scripting tool to automate testing for Mobile Station. Scripting language sent AT commands to device for device control. Customers for this service were Nokia and Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications

Provided installation service for distance learning applications over the internet. Installed equipment and configured (DNS server and Subnet mask) CISCO routers to work in a corporate intranet to provide these video conferencing solutions.

Alcatel USA- Raleigh, NC

Technical Staff Member, System Integration and Test

Worked as member of System Test Team to design, develop and execute System Integration and Verification Test plans to insure system compliance to Functional and industry Specifications. Testing responsibilities included integrating new hardware/software interface DS3 ATM interface testing (bit error rate and Quality of Service (QOS, VBR, CBR, ABR)), Automatic Protection Switching, Unidirectional Path Switched Rings and 2 Fiber Bi-directional Line Switched Rings (OC48). Rational Clearcase used as software/test development control tool.

Provisioned and maintained complex networks of Network Elements in a SONET ring configuration driving traffic (3rd party test equipment (Spirent, HP, Smartbits, Agilent, etc.)) between communicators with protection mechanisms above.

Provided Technical training to Technical Assistance Center engineers, cross-training of test team in areas of expertise and supported customer demonstrations on customer premise of ATM and Ethernet drop cards.

Automated Network Management Graphical User Interface Testing PC by writing a PERL script that opened TCP/IP Socket and allowed communication between NM GUI and host UNIX server which could then exercise NM GUI from files. Mechanism allowed comprehensive exercise of all alarm screens and freed up critical Network Element resources.

Technical Staff Member, Systems Performance and Analysis

Developed Measurement Methodology to obtain System Level Measurement for SONET Network Element Software Products. Methodology encompassed the accumulation of measurement data, the categorization of the data into its type, modeling system behavior to obtain relevant timing data and, the accumulation of data into meaningful reports. Results of this analysis enabled processor upgrade decisions to be made in regard to future Network Elements and the timing of upgrades in Network Elements. Activity required knowledge of C and assembly languages to locate points of measurement transition. Analysis programs written in C and later converted to AWK and PERL scripts allowing relational database structures thus simplifying the scripts. Utilized shell scripting capability via command line interface (CLI) to parse through multiple data sample files for relevant measurement data.

Developed Measurement Methodology to measure impact of message transfer through the OSI Seven Layer stack at originating, terminating and thru nodes. Measurement activity varied the size of messages to provide varied loads to nodes under measurement and required C programming language skills and assembly language skills.

AG Communication Systems (Joint Venture between GTE and AT&T)- Phoenix, AZ

Lead Engineer, System Resource and Analysis

Developed capacity statements for call-processing events in telephony switch processors. Interactively emulated telephony software at the 8086 instruction set level . Timing information derived was accumulated to provide event/stimulus execution times for capacity statements.

Estimated and measured digital line interface devices impact on real-time. Required analytic and research abilities to analyze software to determine points of interaction with hardware. Digital interface between the GTD-5 and digital devices was simulated via command files that allowed communication as these digital devices (HDLC emulation). Estimates and subsequent measurements allowed questions to be answered concerning the performance of this class of device.

Member of Technical Staff, Software Development

Designed, implemented, tested and maintained office dependent data base command software for GTD-5 digital switch. Responsible for office dependent burst error rates for digital devices.

Designed, implemented, tested and maintained Central Call Processing software for GTD-5 digital switch. Responsibilities for network connection software which enabled telephone calls to be switched and connected through the fabric of the GTD5.

Designed, implemented, tested and maintained diagnostic software for GTD-3 project. Part of CCIS development team. Designed implemented and tested External Data Test module. Module verified integrity of CCIS trunks by communicating to the connected office over CCIS network. Digital message interface test software drivers were written to test the program. High quality of effort resulted in no field problems.
