Professional Experience
KuzCo LLC. 2015 - Present
(Director of Engineering)
Responsible for reverse engineering of Software Platforms, Control Hardware and Mechanical Designs to update platforms which where obsolete or no longer supported by the OEM. I replaced OEM control hardware with current state of the art computing and control hardware. Developed and improved process performance of mechanical interface or design to improve process performance and characteristics. I have extensive experience in Ion Implant, Metal Deposition and Plasma Etch systems.
Expert Semiconductor Technology Inc. 2014 - 2015
(Engineering Manager)
I manage design, development and manufacturing activities, my team works with sales to clearly define a customer’s requirements. I have developed processes for “MPI” Manufacturing Process Instructions and BKS “Best Know Solution” that has enabled us reduced our time to market and increased margins due to a significant reduction in initial re-design by adopting these disciplines.
Professional Experience (Continued)
Core Systems Inc. 2010 - 2014
(Equipment Design Engineer)
In my role I was responsible for new product design and system upgrades with a focus on throughput and improved system performance for production ion implanter. Other projects included autonomous control systems that prevent process errors and or scrapped production.
Wolfe Engineering Inc. 2003 - 2006
(Senior Electrical Engineering & Integration Engineer) Worked in the NPI group, worked with the customer to design and produce the first prototype prior to product release on manufacturing floor. Work closely with Manufacturing Engineers to develop, documentation and procedural transition to production.
Core Systems, Inc. 1990 - 2003
(R&D Engineering Manager & Product Development Manager) Responsible for a product design, development and manufacturing developed and shipped several products for wafer processing equipment, data acquisition systems, ECR Ion Source, Ion Implant Dose Metrology tools. Product’s developed and delivered to OEM customers, Axcelis, Varian, Applied Materials, Novellus Inc., and others. Ion Implant Services inc. 1987 - 1990
(Project Engineer & Maintenance Manager)
With a focus on new products / business development, I was responsible for new process development, tool design and modifications required to support new processes. This extended to wafer handling, gas delivery and all safety related actions.
Applied Materials Inc. 1983 - 1987
(Test Engineer & Electrical Engineer)
As a test engineer my responsibilities were to support the development teams with the system integration of etch tool prototypes. I designed and built test equipment for mechanical & electrical assemblies and generated baseline performance data prior to product release.
National Semiconductor Corp. 1979 - 1983
(Equipment Engineer)
Responsible for maintaining process equipment in the Central Ion Implant Process division. Education
San Jose City College, ASEE Electrical Engineering, Laser Technology, Computer Science. Publications
o Advances in optical densitometry for low dose measurements. o Extending the capabilities for optical dose metrology for ion implantation and implant related thin films. o An extended dose metrology tool for a wide range of ion implant applications. o Wide energy range dose measurement tool for ion beams and plasma deposition.
