I have had a very diverse career in a number of different fields. I have worked in the finance industry, worked on, and maintained telecommunications equipment while in the U.S. Army, and most recently as a proud union laborer. In addition to performing laborer duties I performed a number of safety functions for the last 3 years. I have been trained as a competent person for fall protection, 30 hour OSHA training, confined space training, and overseer training, I obtained certification as a Certified Safety Person through the Construction Advancement Foundation. Specifically pertaining to safety I was responsible for training company employees in regards to Exxon Mobil’s safety program, called LPS, or, Loss Prevention System, a unique behavoir based safety system. Additionally I trained company employees on the proper use and wear of fall protection equipment. Further I completed permits for jobs, completed JHA’s/JSA’s for specific tasks, and jobs, conducted safety walk downs, and safety audits. When necessary corrective actions and positive coaching were employed. I have also performed incident investigations in order to identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
