ENGINEERING PROJECTS
Mechanical Controls Project (Team Leader)
Led a team of 4 members to complete the PID controller project, by organizing and delegating the task evenly to each member in order to complete the project successfully and efficiently within the given time period.
Selected the sensor and control materials such as mirco-controller Arduino, ultrasonic sensor, servo motor to design a plant to balance the ball on a beam. Our team achieved the best ball balancing on the beam award.
Prandtl-m Unmanned Aircraft Finite Element Design and Analysis
Finite element analysis software Femap was used to model an unmanned aircraft. An airfoil of the aircraft was used to create the nodes and mesh the model. With the defining properties and appropriate boundary conditions, NeiNastran was used to find the maximum displacement and maximum Von Mises stress.
Ultra-High-Speed Elevator Mechanical System Design
Designed the critical components of the drive and travel system in an ultra-high-speed elevator, while meeting the customer requirements.
Read and followed ASME 17 safety code to design the key elevator system such as wire rope, counterweight, sheaves, roller chain drive, helical gearbox, and shaft/bearings.
The theory applied to the design problems was to simplify the complex structure into sub-parts and analyze and design each phase individually to optimize the design.
Vehicle Body Design (Northrop Grumman Collaboration Project)
Used CATIA V5 software to design and modify the frame of the unmanned ground vehicle.
Successfully designed and constructed the vehicle body for an unmanned ground vehicle to protect the electrical components within a tight 3 months deadline.
WORK EXPERIENCES
Chemistry, Math, Physics, and Robotics Teacher, Veritas Academy
Organized and led a middle school student robotics team at the First Lego League 2014, placing 4th on the second round of the competition. The team built and tested an autonomous Lego robot to run a specific task given at the competition, receiving the best robust bot award.
