Summary:

UHC Community & State Serving more than 4 million people in Medicaid, Medicare, Children's Health Insurance Programs (CHIP), SNP, LTC, ABD in 24 states and the District of Columbia and provides personalized public sector health care programs. SMART was developed in-house to store all Community & States health plans data in one unified system, utilized for business and state compliance reporting and analytical purposes. SMART is a single database instance containing data from all health plans/companies, including Diamond, COSMOS, and Facets data sources.

SMART is growing as the Community & States (C&S) business expands and requires regular upgrades. There are continuous requirements to set up new Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes, upgrades to existing ETL processes, ad hoc business requests from BI teams, and new data to BI teams to comply with state requirements. As every state government health plan levies heavy penalties on health plans in cases of non-compliance or time delay for any reporting requirements, it is very critical to ensure that all reports are generated on time and contain accurate data and are submitted to states or federal regulatory bodies on time and in the correct format. SMART ETL QA has important role in maintaining the quality of the data. Below are few critical deliverables I've been part of below major projects

1.Growth & Expansion - PA New Member Data, Vendor DB 837 Feed etc

2.Internal & Corporate Initiatives (Data Migration) - Oracle 10g to 12C, ETL process upgrade from Oracle to Datastage, ICD9 to ICD10 codes conversion, COSMOS to Facets migration, 49295 ICUE replace CareOne UM Migration etc

3.Data Loads - Increase frequency of Data Warehouse loads(Weekly data load)

4.Change requests (Data integrity) - Cosmos claims interest overreported in data warehouse, Adding Auto Adjudicated Rate logic into SMART feeds, Cosmos null values being defaulted to 0 instead of -1 etc

5.Report testing - Reports generated by Microstrategy & Crystal Reports.

COSMOS (Comprehensive On-Line Software for Management and Operational Support) is one of United Health Group’s Claim Processing Engines, primarily used for local health plan business for small market and middle market employers. COSMOS is mainly used for gathering and maintaining member/provider/employer data calculate payments, set-up provider contracts, research historical data, perform utilization, financial, membership, underwriting, and quality assurance reporting.

Summary:

The Payment Hub support team was formed to do a regression testing of all the defects fixes that happened after the System testing of Release 3 and Release 4 and to promote the code to the next testing environment. The Payment Hub support team will run the regression pack for the following modules

This project involves system testing of the components forming the FPS.We are involved in the system testing of the Payment Engine which is an important part of the FPS .Here is where all major validations of all the transactions or payments are done and payments are processed. The testing involves posting the transactions, checking the responses, validating the settlements, checking the internal databases, validating the data obtained in the responses as well as that stored in the database.

Summary:

FPS (Faster Payment Service) is a new payment system going to be implemented by the UK banking services for payments which need to be done faster then BACS and cheaper than CHAPS which are the two types of paying systems currently in use in UK.

We are involved in the system testing of the Aggregate Accounting and MI reporting. Aggregate Accounting is the process of consolidating FPS transactions from Payment Engine for posting to Core Banking System (CBS) account categories. The transactions are retrieved from Entia to RGW database. The aggregation process will use the data store as input to create aggregate entries. The aggregate records are then associated with appropriate settlement accounts to be fed to CBS. The Transaction log generated in PH is fed to reconciliation process.MI Reporting is the process of consolidating FPS reports from Payments Hub (PH) RGW and Control & Settlement(C&S) database. These reports are validated against RGW and C&S database. These reports constitute of Daily, Monthly and ACI reports.
