As a Production Officer Nimir chemical Lahore Pakistan a Petrochemical (Aromatics ) Production & Refining complex.
Process Summary:
Partial oxidation of Ortho Xylene using BASF catalyst in 2 Vertical Fixbed Tubular Reactors having 5028 and 4641 tubes is produced Phthalic Anhydride as main product and Maliec Anhydride as Byproduct.Plant has a production capacity of 25,000 tons p/a Phthalic Anhydride and 720 tons p/a Maliec Anhydride.The reaction is an exothermic one and heat produced is recovered by a Salt bath circulation system in reactors and then used to produced Steam.Phthalic Anhydride is purified by a contineous Vacuum Distillation in two columns and finally stored in the form of Flakes.
Monitor and Control the plants using the DCS systems and Centum CS3000 by YOKOGAWA Japan.
