Implemented various optimization techniques to reduce the batch processing time by 50%.

Completed the migration of a legacy Sybase/PowerBuilder application to a web application running on .Net Framework (ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JQuery, AJAX, C#) and SQL Server platform. This helped reduce support and maintenance costs by 50%.

Prepared detailed function specifications and use cases, after discussions with stakeholders and documenting their requirements.

Assistant Vice President (Aug 1994 – Dec 2010)

Merrill Lynch (Continued)

Provided day to day support for collateral managers by addressing ad-hoc queries and providing critical real time information, which helping to reduce portfolio risk.

Lead architect in developing the repo margining system, calculating the repo margin calls and providing various forecasting reports and trade detail information, for multiple regions, across various products.

Implemented a real time "straight through process" for automated settlement of security and cash collateral. The architecture involved using IBM MQ Series and message driven EJBs to send real time XML messages to different settlement systems, and processing the acknowledgement messages from the various systems.

Developed a web-based report distribution system that generates and distributes different types of PDF reports on a pre-determined schedule via email and fax. This system helped to reduce operational costs by eliminating the need to manually distribute up to 1500 reports at month end. This system was built using Java, JavaScript, JSP, Servlets and CCS in IBM Web Sphere server.

Integrated various data feeds from different feed providers (trade, price, positions, etc.). Those were used in trade exposure and margin call calculation. Performed optimization of the data load process to reduce batch processing time by 20%.

Implemented and supported commodity deal processes to integrate with the risk exposure calculation engine.

Provided day to day support to collateral managers by addressing ad-hoc queries and providing critical real time information, which helped to reduce portfolio risk.

Used C/C++, Sybase (DB Lib) to develop a series of report for global futures operations and financial group.

Supported very large, complex, and functionally rich PowerBuilder Applications, which included cash ledger, trade receive and delivery, and varied reports in Sybase ASE / Solaris environment.
