Project experience:
Title: Designing of desulphurisation section of recovery processes. Role: Designing of Refinery sour water stripping section and Two stage sour water stripper unit.
Team members: 3
Location: Mangalore Refinery Petrochemicals Limited . Duration: Six months.
Description:
Main concern of doing this project is to control pollution caused by sulphur in off gases emitted by petroleum industry. As a team member i collected data on Refinery sour water stripping section and Two stage sour water stripping section. Aim of Refinery sour water stripping section and Two stage sour water stripping section is to remove ammonia and hydrogen sulphide. Primary step of the process is to find minimum number of stages using Mccabe thiele method. Using Underwood equation to get minimum reflux ratio and internal hydraulic plate design is determined. In-Plant training:
Aim: To study about analyse, preparation and quality of drugs. Team members: 4
Location: Fourrts Pharma Laboratories, Chennai.
Duration: 14 days.
Description:
Fourrts Pharma Laboratories groomed our knowledge by instructing methods involved from collecting sample from small scale industries up to finishing the final products Tested sample are classified according to their final products such as tablets, syrups and ointments. In quality control department practising various chemical (chromatography) and physical methods (Solubility, hardness testing Co-Curricular activities:
Presented a paper on,”Efficient solar cells using Nano-Technology” on 24/9/2011 in SASTRA University. A thin semi-conductor is constructed using quantum dots, which almost absorb most photons from the sun. By providing thin film dye sensitized solar cells better efficiency can be achieved.
Participated in, “Safety and Hazardous for Chemical Engineering”. Major cause of disaster in Seveso chemical industry was by expel of TCDD due to overheating of reactor by steam eventually opened the reactor relief value. Suggestion is to provide temperature reading instruments.
Extracurricular activities:
A Member of Hospitality team in Colosseum-13 (A national level sports fest) and CAPE-2013 (National level technical event) at SASTRA University. Gained knowledge about the following equipments with my core experience
Multi effect evaporator
Reverse osmosis unit
