-Commercial Manager for Gulf Coast Pipeline covering the Lake Charles to Mont Belvieu, TX area

Responsibilities included contract administration for 18 oxygen and nitrogen pipeline accounts totaling over ~ $30 million in annual revenue. Responsible for: contract renewals and assisting the business development group, in acquiring new business. Maintaining customer relationships and coordinating customer entertainment activities.

Successfully negotiated long term (10 + years) contract renewals with customers increasing revenue by 10%

January 1999 – August 2010

-April 2006 –Present: Plant Manager Taft and Norco, LA Air Separation Unit Facilities

Responsibilities: Manage 13 direct reports, responsible for day to day operations and maintenance of (1) 1500 ton/day ASU and (3) 400 ton/day ASU. Total O&M fixed budget ~ $9 million/year. Responsible for all safety and environmental programs ensuring all regulatory requirements are met. Coordinate Taft ASU operations with Dow Chemical which is the on-site customer. Coordinate and execute all training requirements for operations personnel. Maintain all Key Operation Design Documents (KODD), Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and Management of Changes (MOC)

Successfully managed an extended outage and minimizing downtime by locating and procuring critical spare parts for critical equipment

Oversaw and managed an Argon truck loading automation project that increased efficiency by freeing up personnel

-May 2004 – April 2006: Plant Manager, Shell Geismar COGEN, Geismar, LA

Responsibilities: Responsible for the day to day operations of an 80 MW cogeneration facility with a fixed cost O&M budget of ~ $3.5 million/year. Supervised 6 direct reports. Conceptualize and implement $500M filter house replacement project for 2 - Frame 6 gas turbines on time and on budget. This increased the efficiency of the gas turbine by ~ 2.0%

-April 2002 – May 2004: Operations Manager Sabine COGEN, Orange, TX

Responsibilities: Oversight of day to day operations of an 80 MW cogeneration facility, which was Joint Venture between Air Liquide and Reliant Energy. Managed an annual O&M budget of ~ $ 3.0 million. Managed all regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the EPA. Coordinated all daily production and maintenance activities, with the on-site customer (Bayer Corp.). Oversaw all training of operations personnel, which were all Bayer personnel. Maintained all KODD, SOP, and MOC’s.

Managed a raw water pre-filtration project to increase the water quality required for the 2 high pressure steam boilers.

Managed the DEMIN resin replacement project on time and on budget

-January 1999 – April 2002: Operations Manager, Port Neches ASU and COGEN, Port Neches, TX

Responsibilities: Oversaw daily operations and maintenance of a 1200 ton/day and 36 MW COGEN unit. Managed 10 direct reports. Prepared all quarterly and annual air emissions inventory report to TCEQ, ensured all requirements were met for Storm Water Permit were met. Planned all major maintenance activities for plant turnarounds, ensure all spare parts, rental equipment and contractors were on-site.

July 1996 – January 1999: Maintenance Engineer, Arizona Chemical Co., Oakdale, LA

Responsibilities: Coordinated all day to day and major maintenance activities with operations. Implemented capital maintenance improvement projects. Managed 10 maintenance personnel.

-Stationed in Pearl Harbor, HI aboard USS Joseph Strauss (DDG-16), from 12/86 to 2/ 90, engineering division officer, supervised 30 enlisted personnel, qualified as Engineering Officer of the Watch and Surface Warfare Officer.

-Stationed in San Diego, CA from 2/90 – 1/92. Project Officer responsible for fleet support of satellite communications projects, managing an annual support budget of $3.5 million/year.
