OB Unit Inpatient Expansion / Well Babies Unit - Construction of 14 new (one bed) private patient
rooms encompassing an entire block with new patient beds, sinks, light fixtures, private use bathrooms,
privacy curtains, medical gas headwall units, soiled and clean utility rooms, nurse call system, television
sets, nurse stations, upper and lower case cabinetry, new observation unit windows, computer systems,
signage and fire alarm system.
Expansion of Existing Ophthalmology Clinic / Construction of New Pediatric Dental Clinic -
Demolition and relocation of existing Administrative Area for the construction of a new Pediatric Dental
Clinic with new partition walls, plumbing fixtures and doors, modifications to the existing sprinkler and
fire alarm system, new pediatric dental chairs, two (2) private x-ray rooms, patient privacy curtains,
medical gas system for the new dental chairs, cabinetry with overhead lighting, new registration areas,
computers and signage.
Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation Program (CPEP) - Complete demolition and rebuilding of
existing CPEP area in accordance with current Office of Mental Health (OMH) guidelines with new
partition walls, plumbing fixtures and doors, installation of OMH-compliant sprinkler heads, fire alarm
system, nurse call system, registration area, computers and tamper-resistant signage.
Installation of New Medical Imaging Units - Removal of existing and installation of two new medical
imaging units in separate examination rooms which were utilized on patients prior to hospital submission.
Both examination rooms were completely renovated. Work included new flooring, painting, ceilings,
electrical work, HVAC work, millwork and new computer systems.
Central Sterile Supply - Installation of new Reliance Cart and Utensil Washer/Disinfector. A high-
capacity mechanical washer intended for use in the cleaning and low-level disinfecting of bedpans and
urinals, basins, case carts, beds, theater shoes and other miscellaneous reusable patient care items.
Specialties Clinic - To accommodate the 20% increase in volume of the medical and surgical specialty
clinics. Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center selected Jeffrey Berman Architect to expand the
existing 11,420 square foot medical/surgical specialty clinic by adding 11 new exam rooms which was
accomplished by increasing the capacity of the current ambulatory specialty clinic and by repurposing
1,828 square feet of administrative space on two floors. The work was performed in 4 phases to minimize
disruption to surrounding clinic operations.
