Application Developer

Served as consultant for the “Premier Mutual Fund Company” FAS (Financial Advisor System) Retail System expansion project, which was supposed to remove the current system’s limitation, due to sequence number’s size limitation and being part of composite key. The current limitation was to be removed by switching all of the affected programs to start utilizing the new surrogate key (Pending Transaction Id). The project was following Agile Scrum approach for project management.

Responsible For:

Analysis of the modules impacted by the proposed changes.

Gap analysis

Designing, coding, testing and implementing the necessary changes.

Managing the unit, integration, systems acceptance testing (utilizing Mainframe Express).

Packaging and successfully deploying over 100 modules via Endevor:

COBOL Service programs.

DB2 Stored Procedures.

COBOL Batch programs.

New Batch Jobs (JCL, parameters).

As part of the development team, following Agile approach to software development:

Participated in Sprint planning sessions.

Aetna, Inc. – Blue Bell, Pennsylvania

2003-2015

Technical Leader / System Analyst/Application Developer

Served as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), supporting the Electronic Transaction Reporting application (ETR). ETR leveraged data supplied by EDI Gateway, and transformed the EDI Enrollments, Health Care Claims and Electronic Remittance Advice Transactions (EDI 5010 834, 835, 837) into proprietary Real Time and Batch electronic transactions, and were persisted into DB2 database. Implemented the new functional process for resubmitting 837 rejected claims based on 999 acknowledgements, returned by trading partners that saved Aetna around 6.5 million dollars.

Supporting Provider e-Solution and Balance/Reconciliation business teams by:

Managing the pipeline of business requests for research.

Communicating the research outcomes to business stakeholders.

Analysis and impact assessment of the requested changes.

Providing technical direction for current and future changes of the ETR business application.

Responsibilities for processes of the turnover elements check list and migration through Endevor.

Successfully delivered a new expanded Benefit file for Magellan Healthcare Behavioral Health Company, according to business requirements.

Provided the rewritten process to the existing IPA Batch jobs: reduced the number of replicate jobs, eliminated the terminated IPA’s, corrected the PCP effective/end dates, and added new fields for the dependents to the existing data files.

Supported the Eligibility Roster system with appropriate responses for all customer demands.
