TECHNIQUES:

1.Preparation of several types of culture media for culturing microorganisms.

2.Isolation, identification, enumeration, and preservation of several types of infectious micro organisms (including gram positive and gram negative bacteria; viruses, and fungus).

3.Different staining methods for microorganisms.

4.Serological techniques, such as ELISA (enzyme linked immunosorbent assay), RAPID, Single Radial Immuno Diffusion (Mancini and Ouchterlony methods), ASO (Anti Streptolysin O Test), VDRL and WIDAL tests.

5.Blood cell count methods, such as TLC (Total Leukocyte Count) and DLC (Differential Leukocyte Count); estimation of blood groups (A, B, O, AB, and Rh groups) by agglutination reactions, determination of antibody titer.

6. Biochemical tests of certain bacteria, such as sugar fermentation tests, litmus milk test, methyl red test, Voges-Proskauer test, citrate utilization test, and nitrate reduction test.

7.Collection and biochemical analysis of blood samples.

8.Clinical Biochemistry: Quantitative tests for carbohydrates, qualitative tests for proteins and amino acids, qualitative tests for lipids. Biochemical examination of urine samples.

9.Microbial analysis of food, water, air, milk, and dairy products.

10.PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), amplification test, cutting and joining of DNA, transformation in the case of E. coli. Isolation and purification of high molecular weight genomic DNA from E. coli.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:

1 month summer training in Vats Pharma Pvt. Ltd., Partapur, Meerut, India. Worked in the company’s manufacturing unit, to familiarize myself with the machinery and equipments used in manufacturing the medicines. Also got involved in the process of testing the quality of raw materials and finished products. I acquired practical knowledge of manufacturing medicines, testing of raw materials and finished Goods and in process, checked the pharmaceutical preparations. In the process I was deeply involved in preparation of formulation like cough syrup, pain killers and Multi-vitamins capsules).

6 months Dissertation title “Prevalence of HBsAg and HCV in Blood Banks of New Delhi” from National Institute of Biological, Noida, U.P., India. Under Ministry of Health, Govt. of India.

6 months Internship, Santosh Medical College and Hospital, U.P., India. I did compulsory internship training of six months in central clinic lab. (in Depts. of Microbiology, Depts. of pathology and Depts. of Biochemistry). I effectively utilized the diagnostic techniques and familiarized myself with various instruments.
