Troubleshooting equipment and process problems. Seeking to leverage my experience in PFD, P&ID, DOE, OE & Continuous Improvement, chromatography.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Wayne State University, Research Assistant, January 2016 – February 2017
Studied effects of surface compliance on the glassy dynamics of glass-forming colloidal liquid [MS Project]
Conducted processing trials such as film extrusion, compounding, physical testing and developed material and processing parameters to achieve desired end-product properties.
Conducted tests for the measurement of viscosity, specific gravity, gel times, etc.
Employed Confocal microscopy in fluorescence imaging, to track the Brownian motion of PNIPAM particles in the monolayer.
Engaged ImageJ to study the particle size and charge distribution and MATLAB to run simulations.
Wayne State University, Lab Assistant, October 2016 – December 2016
Studied the size effect of Platinum nanoparticle on the energy density of Li-ion/ Li-S batteries.
Assembled batteries to test the effects on energy density with varied parameters.
Synthesized platinum nanoparticles using conventional methods.
Synthesized platinum nanoparticles were coated on electrodes and tested under SEM for physical study.
Wayne State University, Lab Assistant, October 2015 – December 2015
•Engineered synthetic nanomaterials as antigen or drug carriers for subunit vaccine delivery.
•Acquired certain set of skills such as DNA synthesis, DNA sequencing.
•Identified, quantified and purified using HPLC.
•Characterized subunit materials and helped in combining them to test their ability to be inert invivo.
Biocon Limited, Manufacturing/ Production Engineer, July 2013 – March 2015
•Implemented Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence (OE) and improved the productivity of API by 28%.
•Calculated liquid Nitrogen requirement for purging in A1 block and lowered the expenditure on liquid Nitrogen by 12%.
•Executed test plans according to approved procedures, collected samples, results from QC and tabulated test results.
•Provided engineering support to refine chemical manufacturing processes, with attention to OSHA requirements.
•Compiled and analyzed validation data, prepared reports and made recommendations for changes and improvements.
•Coordinated and executed validation change control and prepared draft protocols, reports and data tables.
•Prepared and documented MOC, SOP, BOM, BMR and Quality Control reports for API purity.
•Assisted in preparation of presentations to senior management and Board.
KSDL, Process Engineering Intern, India, August 2012 – August 2012
Contributed in the design and set up equipment to process raw materials such as fat and sodium hydroxide into soap
Investigated the design of wastewater treatment equipment and processes to remove pollutants such as edible oil and soap from the water
Familiarized with the soap-making process; blending, recovery units, centrifugation, drying, & soap noodling.
Mysore Paper Mill, Process Engineering Intern, India, July 2011 – August 2011
Developed promoting the culture of working safely and applying safety related concepts into process flows
Investigated overall plant; Pulp preparation process, liquor recovery process, paper formation, packaging, and effluent treatment
Maintained PFD and P&ID, heat and material balances, and other process engineering tasks
