Work Experience

Design Engineer – Godavari Polymers September 2013 – March 2014

Godavari Polymers is one of the largest manufacturers of HDPE pipes & Sprinkler Irrigation Equipment in India. As part of my job i was involved in doing the following :-

Conduct research and create design proposals for projects.

Create performance and production criteria.

List costs involved & plan marketing initiatives for products.

Project Experience

Mind Controlled Assistive Arm Device ( Cal State Pomona) : The aim was to use brain waves, recorded by an EEG(Electroencephalogram), to control a prosthetic arm. A microcontroller measures the brainwaves registered by the EEG headset and relays it to a 3-D printed arm with servos that bend the prosthetic arm based on those measurements. A Bluetooth modem is used to relay the readings from the EEG headset to an Arduino Uno device.

Dynamic & Kinematic Analysis Of Windshield Wipers(Cal State Pomona) : Created various possible design for a 3 blade windshield wiper, conducted both dynamic & kinematic analysis & performed motion analysis using Solid Works. We tried to balance the crankshaft to reduce the shaking forces and moments on the blades.

Design, Construction & Working of A Solar Water Heater (VNRVJIET India): In this project analysis was done on the working, efficiency & performance of a solar water heater which we built. In order to enhance the performance we analyzed the manufacturing process of the water heater. The factors affecting the performance of the solar water heater were noted.

Automobile Assembling & Engine Sensors(VNRVJIET India) : Our case study was carried out on the technologies that are involved in the designing and development of engines in a ‘Hyundai’ car showroom. Our study was also focused on the various Engine Sensors and their troubleshooting.

Research Experience

Research Assistant(Cal State Pomona) Oct 2015 – Jan 2016

Experimental Analysis of the Performance of Nanofluids in Heat Pipes

The conventional working fluids used in the heat pipe have poor heat transfer properties compared to solid metals. The use of nanofluid enhances heat transfer in the heat pipe due to its improved thermo-physical properties, such as a higher thermal conductivity.

The experimentation of different nanoparticles, such as Al2O3, CuO, and TiO2, on heat pipes has been studied. Utilizing nanofluid as the working fluid leads to a significant reduction in heat pipe thermal resistance, an increase in maximum heat transfer, and an improvement of temperature distribution.

Honors

Was part of a Formula One Car Building team & represented the State in a nationwide competition held by the Society Of Automotive Engineers(SAE) at undergrad level.

Awarded prize for ‘AutoCAD Competition’ at the national level technical symposium – “Convergence”, conducted at VNR-VJ Institute of Engineering & Technology.

Awarded a certificate by the Central Institute Of Tool Design(India) for excelling in a course on Computer Aided Three-Dimensional Interactive Application(CATIA).
