MINISTRY VOCATION/CALL:
I am an evangelical Christian with conservative views. I view my primary calling as teaching and preaching. This broad call has the end goal of making disciples who will live authentic lives and impact their world missionally for Jesus. I have a heart for mission and evangelism through the church and cross-cultural engagement. I have a pastoral heart for God’s people and view the task of the church and its leader’s to be caring for the people, teaching them God’s sufficient word, and equipping them for mission.
MINISTRY EXPERIENCE:
My overall ministry experience is 10 years in different capacities. I have served as a street evangelist; Mission coordinator, solo and assistant pastor.
THE HILLS CHRISTIAN FAMILY
Solo Pastor
November 2014 – February 2017 (2 years 3 months)
Staff, Volunteers and Administration:
• Church Staff: I was responsible for the regular supervision the church office and administrator and it day to day activities.
• Volunteers: I oversaw all volunteers and made sure they knew their role, that they were trained and were prepared for the
• Administration: I served on the church’s property body corporate committee as treasurer and I chaired all the church business meetings.
Ministries and Sunday service:
• Responsible for the overall Vision and direction of the Church
• Oversee all Teaching and Preaching
• I lead the church services, presided over the Lord’s Supper and oversaw the whole set up and pack up.
• Children’s ministry: I implemented a new church children’s program (The Gospel Project for Kids) and oversaw its weekly management through the children’s coordinator. I trained the leaders and provided weekly program overviews. This program was praised for its effect on the children’s faith and remains a key part of the church’s program. I also wrote and directed the children’s Christmas play.
• Youth Group: I oversaw the youth group leaders and regularly spoke at the youth group meetings.
• Cell Groups: I oversaw all cell groups, the teaching materials and I started a new youth focused cell group.
Outreach:
• I oversaw and participated in the church’s outreach activities, activities such as tracting, Neighbor Day Community Fair, visiting nursing homes and hostels for the mentally challenged. I started a men’s breakfast that reached out to new people.
• Taught Religious Education: I taught religious education classes in the local primary school for two years
Pastoral Care and Discipleship:
• I led a weekly Bible study with a young couple, who were troubled with drug and alcohol addiction, by the grace of God, they have been set free.
• I set up and implemented a visitation schedule for the congregation, whereby, I regularly visited congregation members or they were invited to our home for dinner.
• We hosted a successful, fortnightly church BBQ that was loved by all.
ENGAGE International BRISBANE
Mission Coordinator February 2013 – Present (4 years)
• Manage and oversee general operations of the Australian base including overseeing board, networking, basic accounting, making sure we meet all legal requirements for a non-for-profit organisation, and payroll. Also, promotion through newsletters, fundraising, and website editing.
• Serve as chairman of the Australian board.
• Write the curriculum for our church planting Institute in Nepal, organize and oversee our quarterly training weeks, and annually travel internationally to teach them.
Living Waters Christian Fellowship BRISBANE
Assistant Pastor 2010 – 2014 (4 years)
¥ Oversee parts of the worship service set up: I was responsible for opening and closing the building, the setting up of the sound equipment, the seating, and the pulpit.
¥ I preached 2-3 times every month towards the end of my time at the church because the Senior Pastor was elderly.
¥ I served as one of the four church elders. I was responsible for the evangelistic ministry and the shared as a key leader in the visioning process.
¥ I started a newcomer’s evangelism group and led the main Bible studies for the church’s outreach groups.
¥ I served as the worship and song leader, presided over the Lord’s Supper, and hosted the church services.
