Academic Projects
Convoy of vehicles, San Diego, CA, September to December 2016
For the implementation of driverless cars, enhanced the input images of tail lights and number plate of a vehicle using the image processing techniques like color slicing, erosion, dilation, edge detection, segmentation, auto correlation, conversion from RBG to gray, gray scale to binary. Tools used are OpenCV and Matlab. The challenges like tradeoff between resolution and processing speeds, working of moving camera, dynamic environments were discussed in the future scope.
Designing a machine to machine communication network, San Diego, CA, September to December 2016.
Given a scenario in which nodes are moving vehicles in a construction site with in limited radius, parameters that define the condition of the vehicle are collected by the sensors in the vehicle and transmitted over the internet to the data consolidation point. For the successful transmission of data in this scenario the node architecture, network architecture were designed and various challenges associated with the mobility of vehicles like routing, overlapping of networks were identified and solutions were proposed.
Analysis of TCP behavior and Networking demands for video-on demand services, February to May 2016
Using the tools Network emulator and Wireshark, the behavior of TCP and network impairments were analyzed. Network impairments: Isolated packet error rate, burst error rate, burst duration, delay jitter, band width limitations for Netflix, HULU, Vudu, cinemasnow were analyzed. Various experiments like injecting packet loss, introducing delay, varying bandwidth were done on the above video-on demand services and the results were tabulated.
LTE for Unlicensed band, San Diego, CA, February to May 2016
Documented a report on the experiment of clean channel selection in the unlicensed band; Various challenges that occur during the merging of LTE to the unlicensed band and different solutions were proposed. Schemes to implement LTE in the unlicensed band in an efficient manner were presented.
