Formerly CTO/ IT and Operations Director and Head of Change for Jupiter Asset Management and a member of the 6 person management team that ran the day to day operation of the business. Twenty six years Technology and Operations experience, eighteen of which have been in the investment management and banking sector.
Overall management of IT and business change department for Jupiter Asset Management, with a budget of approximately £22 million and a headcount of approximately 100, reporting to the CFO and CEO. Overall responsibility for design and implementation of IT strategy I have also previously managed IT and Operations as well as Development, Business change and Architecture for Threadneedle Asset Management.
In depth knowledge of instrument life cycle as I started my career in middle and back office solutions and then moved into front office technologies. Designed and installed a range of Fixed Income, Risk and Equity systems for asset managers, hedge funds and investment banks. Experience of other products such as property, loans and debt. Implemented agile methodologies and gained huge results and a very satisfied client base. Ran the whole Development and Change departments utilising agile and scrum methodologies.
I have vast experience in running Global data management solutions and strategies. I have implemented Markit EDM, Eagle Pace, Goldensource and other data Management solutions successfully over my entire career, with team sizes ranging from 5-75 and budgets from hundreds of thousands to tens of millions.
In my last role I was responsible of designing and implementing ( Programme Director) the Data strategy for Jupiter which resulted in them implementing Markit EDM to address their data requirement for global growth.
While at Jupiter I have controlled and implemented the sale of the private client business (£2b) in the space of 6 months. Implemented a new Fixed Income system, and a new treasury and cash management / cash ladder system. Upgraded the Finance system, replaced the HR and legal systems. Moved Jupiter to its own co-located private cloud, implemented a new digital unified communications system. Upgraded the CRM system, upgraded Charles River (the Equity system) in 4 months. Implemented a new data management solution and massively enhanced cyber security, Implemented a rolling 6 months primary data centre swap for DR/BCP. Managed the setup of multiple new International offices (Madrid, Frankfurt, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Milan) and moved corporate headquarters (circa 500 people) from Belgravia to Victoria. Helped design and implement the Digital strategy for the company.
I also frequently speak frequently at conferences on a wide range of subjects from Outsourcing and large Programme Management, Agile Development, Managing complex change to Cloud Technologies, Mobile / Digital strategies and Front Office Trading and Modelling technologies.

Role: IT Director and Head of Change
Brought into Jupiter to restructure the department and manage a large book of change that was very late and over-budget. This included a move to co-location data centres, a private cloud implementation, and a new IT strategy for the company and structural issues with the department, building and company. All turned around and successfully delivered within one year to budget and timelines.
Managed the implementation and sale of the private client business to Rathbones with a value of £2 billion.
Designed and Implemented new FI system (Thinkfolio and integrated it in real time to Charles River),
Initiated, designed and implemented a Global Data Strategy for Jupiter and ran the successful implementation of Markit EDM. Re-engineered and upgraded the CRM system, new intranet site, new website, outsourced factsheets, AIFMD project, FATCA and CASS projects, Data Governance programme, marketing automation programme, a Risk Programme and a digital marketing project to name just a few.
Restructured the department delivering greater efficiency and quality while lowering operating cost. Delivery improved substantially across the board with reduced headcount but more capable staff.
Management team and department restructured, greater utilisation of scrum/agile. PMO and testing functions set up formally.
Completely redesigned DR/BCP, now can run from both sites and have successfully fallen over 9 times in two years

Restructured the department, aligning project teams to key business areas
Managed and delivered the integration of two hedge fud business, including people and systems into the Threadneedle architecture
Owned, designed and managed Threadneedle’s data architecture. Integrated Markit EDM with Goldensource to create a golden copy of Threadneedle and Columbia Data
Improved project delivery and increased capacity.

Designed and implemented Threadneedle’s Data Management solution and Architecture.
Re-organised the department and managed within budget while successfully implementing a huge failing programme
Programme Director for the outsource programme of Threadneedle Asset Management’s Operation and Back Office IT departments to JPM. This involved the migration of 25 major systems with associated hardware, over 120 interfaces and the relocation of 170 staff. This was a highly complex and challenging programme and was completed 3 months ahead of the contractual schedule.
