Work Experience

RF Calibration Engineer

LitePoint, a Teradyne Company, Albuquerque, NM, USA. 2016-March 2017

-Debugged and developed embedded software running on the PXI and PXIe instruments to develop test program of RF Downconverter module of VSA, tested performance of OFDM/WI-FI waveform through receiver data chain. This enabled customer shipment of ~0.5 million dollar of new revision of VSA.

-Interfaced and raised bugs on Jira of several severity with the software team and resulted efficient software and firmware release while debugging and troubleshooting software panels, instrument libraries and other related software to control instruments.

-Maintained and released internal documentation and manufacturing procedures that were used to generate customer instruments’ spec documents

-Developed test, characterization (using VNA, VSG and VSA) and calibration algorithm at the IO’s of ATE port module (RF subsystem consisting RF switch matrix with coupler, amplifier, power detector and attenuator targeted to test cellular and wi-fi PA and FEM) using C++ on Microsoft Visual Studio that would achieve an accuracy of +/-1dB accuracy over a dynamic range of 50 dBm power level both in generator and analyzer side.

RF Test Engineer

Skyworks Solutions, Newbury Park, CA, USA. 2014-2016

-Designed, developed and characterized ATE test program for RF power amplifiers (PA), FEM (LNA). Used RF test equipment such as Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Noise Figure Analyzer, Signal Generator, Power Meter to perform tests such as s-parameters, input and output power at compression, harmonics, IP3, noise figure, ACLR, error vector magnitude (EVM). Wrote software in Visual C++ to test RF amplifiers using Keysight (Agilent) RF test equipment on GPIB/LAN interface (SCPI commands). Delivered automated test solution to enable on time shipment of customer sample parts that enabled winning businesses and resulted multimillion parts shipment.

-Analyzed statistical test data from various lots on Excel and JMP to ascertain test program repeatability, tester to tester and site to site variability and accuracy. Found design issues/bugs, worked with design and product engineers to come up with solution through test program data analysis as quickly as possible.

-Designed schematics, reviewed layouts and created BOM (test fixture & cable harnesses) of ATE daughter boards for RF amplifiers and RF switching systems using MIPI controllers, RF attenuators, RF switches, diplexers & filters, dip switches and various peripheral devices such as LDO's, relays etc. Standardized the best practices of schematic design and layout review process by making presentations to fellow test engineers and providing necessary documentation.

Test (ATE) Engineer

Broadcom Corporation, Irvine, CA, USA. 2011-2014

Worked on Teradyne Ultraflex test equipment (ATE) to develop test programs to screen products. Responsibilities involved collaborative effort between design, product and planning engineers, marketing, external customer hardware vendors and over-seas test houses in order to deliver working System on Chips (SoCs) to customers.

-Developed and maintained comprehensive test programs for high volume testing and ATE characterization for both probe (wafer level sort WS) and final (package level FT) test. Supported mixed-signal testing of Broadband Communication Group’s product line (such as fiber to home gateway devices, SRAM and HDROM, femtocell, line driver etc.) through ATE Solutions.

-Managed design of test hardware - loadboard (DUT interface board) schematic design and layout review to produce accurate repeatable results.

-Reduced test time by more than half in VDSL line driver ad SRAM & HDROM test program.

-Converted patterns from vcd & wgl to tester format through scripting language, interfaced with Design for Test (DFT) to create efficient Built-In Self Testing (BIST) methodologies through JTAG, SPI, PCIe protocols to enable optimized test time and enhance yield.

Software Engineer

Photonic Knowledge Inc., Rosemere, QC, Canada. 2009-2011

-Involved in research of signal processing algorithms to generate mineral mapping of geological targets exploitation and subsequently bringing cutting-edge tech to geology using hyperspectral data. Collected grey scale image data using hyperspectral camera at ultra-violet, visible and infra-red spectrum. Resulting the startup company to raise approx. 10 millions of dollar with its prototype solution within a span of 1 year.

-Programmed hyperspectral image processing algorithms such as optimized image de-noising, rectification, registration, spectral similarity/pattern matching, RGB filtered image generation etc. in MATLAB and in Python. Integrated the verified algorithms into company’s software package that enabled customers to analyze data accurately.

Firmware Engineer

Mircom Technologies Ltd., Saint-Laurent, QC, Canada. 2008-2009

Instrumental in design and coding of embedded application in C. Conducted multiple tests of application to ensure reliability. Led the integration of application with the main fire panel control system.

-Developed real-time application for Standalone Voice and Telephone System – running on Blackfin 537 processor and AD1839 used as audio codec. Used communication protocols (ARCNet, BACNet, RS485, Ethernet/IP), worked in designing APIs, managed make files and embedded development build environments.

Teaching Assistant 2004-2008
